They use your serial number on the machine to find warranty information, the receipt doesn't matter. Under the Trade Practises Act's
implied warranty, it doesn't matter if your $3,000 notebook is 13 months old, they still have to fix it.

As long as you check the feedback first, you should be fine. Extended AppleCare is almost all
profit-margin, so seeing it for half the recommedned retail price or less is not uncommon.

Supported != works.
I have Win 7 running in Bootcamp and Parallels right now - not that I've used it all that much yet. My main parallels environment is still XP and the Win7 one is there for testing purposes.
