If you can go to a lighter wheel...that nails the offset that you are after...that is better than using wheel spacers.

New Euro tire labeling rules
Published (2009-11-30 11:31:00)
Is there some rule that says it only has to be 3 values? Why get rid of treadwear?? Some tires have a softer compound, but deep tread, so they last long while being grippy and less efficient. That's why some all terrain tires can have such good life. This new system doesn't convey that at all. How about instead of this garbage, we get rid of the ridiculous metric section ratio system, and just label tires by rim diameter, width, and...

I don't know what your wife would like, but for you, a nice set of Panasports adds some instant testosterone to the car. You can find them on Craigslist for about $500-600.

I suspect you will get better gas mileage with the winter setup- lighter, thinner tyres resulting in less drag and friction. How much of a difference, probably not much.
The cooler (more dense) winter air will generally provide for better engine performance, but reduce traction. The traction situation mainly apply to cars under track conditions or aggressive driving, where heat in the tyres ...

They can also damage your wheel bearings by extending the mounting area past whereit was designed to be. They might give you a wider stance but it would be safer to just get wider rims that mount in the correct position.( load distribution issue)......................Jon 01 LS

Wheels are unsprung weight...
And with a lightweight wheel...the ride improves on bumps. And if the ride improves on bumps...then traction also improves on bumps. The only tradeoff...is durability of the wheel.
A couple of pounds of wheel weight...is a big difference. So you can have a better car...if you don't mind replacing a wheel every 18 to 24 months.

Did you call to ask if both were applicable? If says on the rebate form "cannot be combined with other offers". I've been trying to get through all morning to ask that question. Don't want to find out that you only get the $50 Black Wednesday-Friday savings and miss out on $80 rebate. Otherwise, I've got my finger poised on the buy button as I type.

Have a look at the 16" x 8" Enkei RP-F1 wheels wrapped in 245/35/16 Toyo T1R tyres.
Get four of them, and forget this silly idea of a staggered setup. You won't be disappointed.

Wink, Go back to that store. Have them loosen the lugs, if they break one it's on them. Take your own torque wrench. On the 99 sport I bought in October one was so tight I could turn wheel had to have GF hold on the brake.
