Oh, yea, What Flores said, the brake pedal on the floor at the end of the straight is scary! Especially with mismatched grip that tosser tires will give you.

Thanks Mark & Skip for the info. The Google Maps satellite view shows painted stripes on the road to Grand View Point so it is probably in good shape. And I will certainly keep an eye out for loose rocks.

We got an E30 we might be willing to make a deal on I'll ask the team if you're interested. It's damn fast...ran mid to low 2:03s in traffic. So we know it's as fast as the winner's car We found all we needed was fuel. Set the pressures at the start and that's it Quote: Originally Posted by jay dub El Fez Quote: What kind of car are you planning on entering? We don't have a car yet. Pretty much set on a...

LaSal Mountain Loop - I'm not sure I've been there so I can't comment Dead Horse Point State Park - The Utah club usually holds an event at Dead Horse Point, so yep! Arches National Park - Absolutely! Been there many times in the Miata. Canyonlands NP - Grand View Point - Should be paved as well, but I've not been there either. Hwy 279 west of Moab - From Google Maps satellite view, it appears to be paved but I've...

The LaSal Mountain Loop is Miata friendly and very scenic. Highway 128 from I-70 to Moab follows the Colorado river and is very twisty and scenic. Watch out for bicycles and rocks on the road. Last time there I came around a bend at about 35 mph at night to find both lanes of the road covered with a fresh rock fall. My lowered Miata hit 6 - 8 large rocks damaging the butterfly brace, downpipe, WB O2 sensor and putting a few other dents in the...

Oil. Bring oil Check it often. Can't do any car work in pit lane now except gas. You have to drive to your pit to check tires, oil, coolant, what-have-you. Oh, and don't forget oil. That was our only Achilles heel. Unless you like changing engines overnight...

I've quite a few HPDEs under my belt. Team rule is to drive like an HPDE with the goal being to finish.

Sure are! Although I must say I hail from Tucson. You might want to try the Sahuaro Miata Club site for more folks in a closer proximity.

MIke: no road work on I40 from Flagstaff to Albuquerque, so far as I know. If you're looking for a good lunch in Flag, try Beaver St Brewery, good food and brew. I would recommend a stop at meteor crater, which is right off I40 about 30 miles east of Flagstaff. Hard to believe sucha big hole could be made from a 100 ft meteor. I think it's 3 miles around, and 600 ft deep, if I recall corectly. ...

I live here in the Austin area. If you don't have tour name on a list or your wrist ban, you won't see a thing. a few local bars with bands, but the "main" area is expencive, and hard to get in to. As for rooms, If you didn't book a room in 2005, you SOL (**** outa luck) Sorry.
