Dang; that is cool. Wish it had low-level outputs and amber illumination! The lack of outputs kills it for me! DLS speakers

Anyone using DLS speakers? These look interesting: http://www.dls.se/en/car/prod.html?produkt=en_96 Good frequency range and one of the highest sensitivity ratings I've seen. DLS is a Swedish company and no dealers close to me so would have to buy without listening to them which is not ideal. Anyway, appreciate any opinions.

Better support for new reciever?...

I don't know what kit Crutchfield sends for the NB but the one that they ship out for an NA is worthless. Actually, the original cage that holds the radio in an NA lines up perfectly with the various mounting holes in an aftermarket HU and lets it be mounted with a very factory look. I just throw the mounting kit in the trash although the wiring adapter they send is very useful.

Will this radio fit my '94M?

Some people also keep the stock radio/tape deck and add a supplemental CD player like this one: http://www.miata.net/garage/sony_cd.html . This will probably get more responses from the Audio and Electronics subforum, and Jeff Anderson. Not sure what you're looking for, but Jeff can also "upgrade" the stock stereo as well. http://www.miata.net/products/ptm/ptm9705.html

Hello! Today, I received the pinout for the Grom Aux Interface ( http://www.gromaudio.com/store/aux_a...m-aux-maz.html ) from Alisher at Grom Audio! So I am printing it out along with the pinout from the beginning of this thread to see if I can learn anything. So 2 possibilities: if the pinouts match, I'll buy one, try it, and see what happens and then put the results in this thread. If they do not match, I will have my buddy the...

I found my 2000 Miata too noisy for iPhone's speaker when I use GPS navigation, and it created a couple of dangerous situations. So I came here for help -- what I intended to do was to buy a cassette unit and use a conversion tape. Fortunately, Mark Booth is so nice to show me how he made his AUX-input mod ( http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=219635 ), and it was amazingly elegent and ...

I do have experience with the Infinity Kappas on head unit power. I relisted them on ebay the day after I bought them. Ive never heard such shrill awful sounding speakers. then I bought some Boston Acoustics. Those however are GREAT on head unit power. I'd go with the speakers that have the lowest power rating. That way you get them to perform close to what they were designed for. Your ...

Will this radio fit my '94M? Will the nice fancy schmancy radio I see in the later model M's and some other NA's fit into my newly acquired 94M? Quote: people still used music cds? Only those of us who like good sound quality... Some of us still actually listen to vinyl records at home... Just wander through the many threads here. You will find many varying thoughts on this subject. You could add an ipod adapter or a plain old auxillary input to the existing stereo.

GPS "reception" is *usually* limited by the chips used in the product, rather than the antenna. Keep in mind that reception and accuracy are not necessarily directly linked. A GPS antenna would make a lousy satellite radio antenna. Are you having problems with performance?

crenwelge, The standard OEM Mazda Miata radio is 180 mm wide X 160 mm deep X 70 mm tall. About 52 mm additional tallness could be gained by removing the dash pocket. In case you're unaware, the standard Miata radio serviced has some superior capabilities and you could be headed to do more to get less.

I looked at that one before I decided to get Jeff Anderson to redo a stock radio for me. It's to deep to fit by about an inch.
