The issue here is card advantage, just add a discard to the costs and you should be good. Slap that down on an enchantment, or creature even. Say "When searching your library you may cast spells from your library by discarding a card in addition to paying its other costs."

This is an awesome idea! The flavor is great and so is the art. Needs a Darksteel shuffle effect though because it's too big to be a reanimate target.
