Further to this, I have tried moving the mailboxes to a different database and I still get the same problem. However, it does'nt look as though the mail is even being submitted to the HT Servers? I have ran a Test-ServiceHealth and all the req'd services are running on the MB and HT Servers. One of the items on the Test Mailflow tool says that it cant find the HT Server, even though on the next tab it says that it has found 2 HT...

In addition to this, when I changed the SMTP address of the contact to a gmail.com address, it didn't get delivered either. (in reply to Curare )

Well.... I called Time Warner and talked to their tier II folks. There is a PTR record setup for our domain. I did go out to MXTOOLBOX and it shows my reverse DNS lookup correctly. I also did a black list check and nothing jumped out at me. This has really got me miffed. I tried running the Exchange tools that came with 2007, but nothing stands out. We haven't made any changes to the server itself. I do have logging turned on. Would...

Hi, You can test it by using telnet: telnet hub.domain.local 25 Then check if you get a response from it, once you get a respond type: ehlo domain.local mail from: test@test.com rcpt to: administrator@yourdomain.com data this is a test. .

Double check your DNS data such as PTR record. The reverse DNS (rDNS \ PTR) record is configured by the people who issued your IP address in most instances (so your ISP). Hi, Just create an extra receive connector which only allows relaying from authenticated sessions. In Outlook you will define that you will need to authenticate before sending.

The first thing to check is whether you have any sort of filter outside of Exchange. Some filtering systems block inbound messages unless the recipient address is in a list.
