Certificate Errors

You really shuld own the internal domain name otherwize you will have trouble buying a SAN certificate including the name. Obviously you can´t register a certificate for a name you don´t own. If this is your main problem I´d start thinking of correcting that issue first. For correcting internal URLs and also configuring the domain to let Outlook to circomvent the certificate error read this: Security warning when you start Outlook 2007 and...

Hi De.Blackman, my concern was, Outlook clients would not find the new Exchange 2007 Server. But Henrik walther confirmed it, no need to change name and IP. Many thanks for all your support!

Kisubiboy, Thank you for the clarification and I guess you can look at my first response for a workaround. Can you lets us know what the reasoning behind why you want to use the same name? Maybe we can offer some suggestions to you because changing the computer name after installing exchange is just asking for trouble!

Install/Uninstall SCR Cluster

You need to perform the proper steps which would be similar to decommissioning steps.  Check for any system mailboxes, PF, Routing groups, bridgehead, backwards compatability, etc.  This will also depend heavily on the Role of that cluster as their are different steps for removing each server role that you must take.  Exchange 2007 does not respond favorably to the uninstall commands......... Why would you like to do that? Any specific reason? .. and also - why Exchange 2007? Exchange 2010 is the current release and should be the more attractive way to go.

This error is due to the misconfiguration of the web distributed services of Exchange 2007 (autodiscover, etc). It needs to be ensured that all of the internal URI's for each available service points to the CAS. If you are not using UM Role then ensure that you arent using a UM Cert or any of the verbage for the UM Cert in the IIS cert pointing to the CAS....

First, I am absolutely shocked that the installation didnt't fail. Second, there is absolutely no help for you. Just backup your AD. Do an Exchange aware backup of the Exchange to clear the logs. Take Exchange down and do a flat file backup of the entire box. Apply the SP. Back it all up all over again, this time in reverse order (for Exchange). Take those tapes out of rotation for a while - until you've had another good Exchange aware backup.

Hi, Just change the port back of the recieve connector. You won't need to change the port because it looks like your doing port redirection which redirects 225 to 225 this can also be 225 to 25. Which ports do comcast allow? Try other ports then mentioned in this article: http://www.dslreports.com/faq/10778

Hi, In that case you will need to have 2 external ip-addresses one for the old and one for the new server. Then ensure that the mx-record in your external dns points first to the current server and as fallback the new server. Then from external test the mail flow by using telnet on port 25.

If you can't rename it back and uninstall you need to use ADSIEDIT to tear the server out of AD. You should never have tried to rename it and you're reaping the rewards for that.
