CLubman S in the snow
Published (2009-12-15 06:18:00)
Here in northern lower Michigan, we have almost constant snow covered roads, from around December onwards. I use the Finnish brands, which are not so great on the dry pavement, but really stick to snow. They are hard to spell, but they make my Clubman into a snowmobile. - I've used Hakkapellita and Gishliveds over the past few years and love them. The Hakkies are pricey, the Gishliveds are not so. I had one trip on snow with my summer...

Thank you for the responses. I also found the manual on the Owner's Lounge. I am just glad to know the settings can be changed without the dealer.

Sorry for your loss. Best bet is to get rid of it. Take a few grand loss, sell it then buy a better more reliable car. Been there done that myself. Worst car I have every owned. I will never buy another one nor will I buy a BMW because they are selling these POS cars.

Can a dent be removed?
Published (2009-12-16 15:01:00)
Sorry if this post sounds mean but I'm just boiling because it's someone did it on purpose. Some ^!#$&% decided to hit my car with something big. There is a huge dent in the very far lower right corner of the left barn door. I opened it and looked at it. I was dismayed to find that it's welded together as one unit. Does anyone know how to get that fixed? A shopping cart simply rolling across the parking lot...

i should also add that while it is an extremely fun car to drive and has a unique personality, for many people as that fades, it becomes a car. Some people are able to hold on to it and remind themselves that its this awesome machine (these people being enthusiasts). Trust me, I wanted a MINI my whole life, and was very happy with the purchase, but after a couple of years you evaluate your situation and sometimes it just makes more sense...

beasleyboy, a couple of year ago I bought a "do it yourself" kit and it worked great on my last vehicle after a hail storm (cannot remember the name of the kit, but it was something like "King" something). Also, depending where are you located, several repairs shop can do something call "paintless dent repair" for bigger damage (I just google it and found 10 shops around the area I live). ...

you could just get a set of blizzaks in the same size as your stock rims and swap them over. i don't use them, but i haven't heard any bad things about them. they come in at what? $100-$150 a piece? + $25-$50 to mount and balance?

The electronics for the manual and automatic trans cars are different so it would also take changing some of the electronics in the car as well, but then again if your are removing the gasoline engine you are going to have other problems as well so it may work.
