the break down you have given, some of the prices are a litle off, thought the head skim a bit high..................... but the total price he is asking is peanuts, virtually half price, for what he is doing. the bottom line is always, has the mechanic got specialist knowledge, of the k-series engine,

Theory would suggest he would have to do less, but never tried so can't say for certain. The auto is a D series not a B series engine.

If its possible to do what keith8000_0 and leave the pistons in place, then you wont need to remove the sump/big end caps etc.

Try hoovering out the internal temperature sensor just in case it's clogged up with dust.

by the time I've found the other threads on this I might just as well post.
The saloon is 178" long (won't fit my garage) and the hatch is 172" (fits).
The extra length is all in the saloon's huge boot.
On both you can load through to the back seats, though the seat cushions don't fold forward on the saloon.
Under the parcel shelf is painted metal on the saloon.
Personally, I find ...

Looks like the lower lateral link to me. Just get one off a scrapyard car, it's quite important as it is responsible for the rear wheel tracking!
The EPC calls it "Compensator, Rear Suspension" - RGD000940

Is this a late Mk1 or a Mk2 version? The Mk2 may look better but I rejected them as 'issues' are now surfacing as they get to five/nearly six years old.
This applies to all though:
The cambelt service is six years/90k, it's at least £600 for the job.
The thermostats leak via the housing, it may already have been done at 42k but if not, budget about £250 - £300.
The clutch ...

I have no idea if this would work (can't see why not) but if your willing to put the effort in i'd go for it.
The two biggest weak links in my 45 are only ever to be the engine and gearbox. If I had the chance!

Waste of time!
Take longer to fit than conventional part, and if you are lucky it will last long enough for the mot test !

Could be 'dodgy' earthing on the starter motor circuit, or bad connection at battery.
When I've had flat battery with my old diesel it just used to click once when I turned the key (I think).

sticking or seised calipers could cause it to brake uneven or worn pads.

ZS or 45 seats will fit, no others.
The fronts out of a saloon or hatch will be ok, but the rears have to be the same type.

Were the waterways of the block bone dry? If so, you might get away with it, but there would still be a slight risk of leaking. If the block contained the usual dirty coolant, this will now have found its way under the sealing lands of the liners and the risk of a leak is much greater.
To be honest, I would not risk it. I'd drop the sump and pop the liners out to be resealed.

check ur brake fluid level, or it could be a dodgy connection or incorrectly sitting handrake switch

I have a set of GMAX -40mm on my R400 and they perform very well, they give the perfect ride height with a very good rake angle, are comfortable but also stiff at the same time. Would certainly fit them again.
