you will need a intercooler you need to keep the air cool especially in a turbo converted car. things need to stay as close to stock running temps as possible and even 4-5psi can increase the intake temps which will increase engine temps, if the car had lower compression or was built forged then running without a intercooler would be possible, but pretty pointless also as you would be wasting power and having to run higher boost to compensate...

I think it's not a VVC exhaust cam that you need, but a suitable 270deg Piper or equivalent performance exhaust cam for the VVC engine. To add one thing to your list i would say that a re-map of the MEMS3 ECU should be a very worthwhile mod for a tuned 160 engine.

Be very careful. It's hard to see problems coming, and you'l have to be on the ball when they happen otherwise things will cock up fast. Today is a great example, I finalyl managed to book my turbo conversion in to have it's exhaust done (after being delayed by 6-7 month) and so I got under the car with some cable ties to do a bit of a tidy up, get all the piping well out of the exhausts way to give the blokes some room to work,...

The 1.8T k series engine is pretty much pushed to the limit even with its low compression set up and VVC pistons. Even so they are almost guarenteed to suffer HGF at around 55k miles just because of the extra flexing. Doing what you are suggesting even at 5psi will put even more stain on the HG and I'd expect it to fail very quickly. How are you planning to control the pressure? on the 1.8T its done electronically. Also how are you...

You would need the 75 Turbo Exhaust manifold and turbo bits then get a custom system made up by an exhaust fabricator

Did the ecu and 5AS box come from the same car? As far as I can remember mate your 5AS box and ECU will need pairing up, i'm unsure as to who can do this for you mate apart from dealerships... The symptoms you describe are definately caused by the immobiliser not disarming thus the ECU killing the engine. Failing getting them paired up just find an ECU/5AS box from the scrap yard. I think ...

what model 25 is it? I think the lower powered 1.4 (88hp or something around that?) has a restrictor in the throttle body that prevents it making the same power as the ZR105... removal of this is a DIY jobby and will give the performance of the 105... i'm sure someone more clued up on the 25 will be along to advise more, im stuck in TF world other things worth doing, cheaply, if your ...
