C'mon Dean, its not the same car and you know it. If you went by that way of thinking Ford have got some Fiestas knocking around for a few quid, at the same time they're selling brand new Fiestas.

Well taking a more positive approach maybe this is the reaason for just a few hundred production as quailty issues were bound to be a problem. I've only seen the 85 model on the road bizarrely and it was fantastic looking though close up it might have had quality issues. If SAIC are serious about the UK/European market they'll have to get quality up and offer serious production but at the moment, even though I think they're...

It can be done but you will need to make some modifications to the memsj engine. For example it will use coil packs and the mems3 version uses coils in the leads. Have you also got the matching ZR160 5AS unit and fobs?

Quote: Yes, Steve, I can explain. The long run optimum for automobile assembly is achieved at around 250,000 units per annum. It can be substantiated by a little survivor analysis of the industry, but I can also refer you to authors such as Prof Garel Rhys, although it is a while since he has published anything. And you are quite right, at 80,000 units per annum Longbridge will never be efficient - unless it is assembling kits, in which case...

Hi. Please excuse the fact that this is my first post and I have little to contribute as of yet!
I have been having difficulty finding an online community that caters for Triumph motor cars. I am relatively involved in the Land Rover community, and there are loads of forums for the Land Rover. Given the fact that Triumph was part of the same company that MG and Rover were throughout the ...

On the ZR and Diesels:
Water leaks - not coolent, but rain . Check the boot area, this is the main area. Also the footwells behind the front seats. Also check the intermittant wiper function, it can fail and a new wiper motor is £140 from MG-R!
Boost hoses on diesel models. Both prone to splitting after a while. They are both around £40 from MG-R.
This in addition to the usual stuff ...

What a bargain.
You should have bought them all and sold them on to members at cost price. I'm sure that people would be interested.

Hollywood built massive sets in the desert because the land was cheap.
If longbridge is cheap enough (didn't the chinese buy it for a fiver?) there's no reason it couldn't be used for the same thing.
Maybe they could call it the Birmingham Desert.

Going off the Wiki history tab, it was added at the end of July. As August has passed, its safe to assume it was hot air.

the number or cylinders would make no difference, a 1 cylinder engine doing 1000 rpm is completing 1000 full crank revolutions per minute.
each cylinder is making 1000 complete cycles per minute
in a 4 stroke engine thats 500 compressions strokes?

Analogue dials! Good thing too. I don't think most of the world likes digital readouts.
I still find that hand brake rather strange though.

Tbh any Rover worth under 2k some will be used and end up bailed. Guess thats some MGF's, high mile older 75s, 45s 25s etc too.
A Friend told me they had a 600ti in Torquay on a dealers forecourt and as it was rather tidy example had to hit it with a lump hammer to make it look scrap to use as as a scrappage scheme advert car.
Someone also told me a mint 26k MG Metro was traded in, ...
