Nope. No one in Australia knows how to rough up a strat body with a handfull of gravel. It will need to be sent back to the Fender Custom Shop for this kind of artisanship.

No they don't greatly affect him - he seems to manage himself. He has (almost single-handedly I believe) organised a modern classical concert for December 10th showcasing the composition students of Monash University, and I'm sure that given your crusade to support new original music in Melbourne that you will be all attending. Great, good to hear it, see you there.

Just because they dont greatly affect YOU, doesnt mean they dont influence the industry as a whole. The push in particular does great things to get school kids into music.

All I can say is - I wouldn't be buying a Marshall to then go and use a modelling unit to get my Overdrive and Distortion sounds. I would not be using any amp modelling in, just the FX - eg. chorus, delay or whatever it has to offer.

He's gotten a bit full of himself these days but he is still a good player and his forum is full of nice people anyway, back to the amp to try, or not to try? That is the question

There are - as listed on the survey - many bureaucracies for "bettering" the industry, and out of them only a few actually manage it. So hopefully you'll forgive cynicism, but your eternal optimism for what could be "great" will prevent this.

Having been in the studio a lot over the last 14 years, I can highly recommend getting as much experience as possible. With the advent of home studios, more players can get experience recording now than ten years ago. there are so many cheap studios around, so get into them and record as much as possible. My first demo session was in 1995, and i recorded many demo sessions after that, then went ...

Does anyone know what the prices of musical gear is like in Chile? A little odd question, but dad's going over there shortly and was wondering if it was worth him having a look around for me. _________________

A friend of mine has a really nice woodgained electric bass by Rama. He got it around 1980 so they are almost vintage now. From what I gather they are of high quality and handcrafted. I think he picked it up new at the old Shecter shop that used to be in Punt Road, Sth Yarra way, way back then.

i got this this semi acoustic that looks like a artcore copy. the strange thing is that is has no brand on the head stock or back plate. i can't find anything anywhere. i was just wondering what could be a reason, (self made (unlikely)),? the (sortof) bridge (middle bit) has been pushed up with two wedges of wood (thus making the action very high) so i can only tell the pickups work by ...

The acoustic centre in south melbourne has just about anything you could want for acoustics. They're totally fine with you playing them all too and taking your time. Might be worth a look. Also, maybe a second hand Martin might be worth considering? Probably wouldn't quite be able to get a new one with a pick up for that money. I've always wanted to like Cole Clark's but I've only ever ...

Hi all, I'm a beginner/intermediate player looking to get into electric guitar. I managed to pick up a Vox DA5 amp a while ago, and now i'm in the market for my very first guitar purchase. I had my eye on the Ibanez RG series, in particular the RG350 and the RG370. The main reason for this is I really dig their looks . My budget: around the 700 mark. I'm hoping to ...
