Thinking about S500
Published (2009-11-27 13:29:00)
All I can tell is that my S500 makes me feel better everytime I get to drive it (my weekend - mon tues, and holidays.) Read other posts about what to look at when buying one. I just got mine a month ago, 2001 S500 for $10.5k +fees +taxes and love it. Everyday I go to my garage to say hello to my "S", and than drive my honda to work.

Well 6 years old yes but it depends on what your after as well..Good looks with MB look or horrible look with more features? I am looking into more untis as we speek to see how it will fit and look original. I am looking on a B-Class unit to see...

well from owning both a 740 and 530 I can tell you the MB seats are alot softer. Also the steering is not as heavy feeling. With the prices these days for a few more dollars you could step up to the s55 or 600 which is an hands down better car, and show's off alot more.

If you have other positions stored in memory, try recalling the stored settings to see if the leg adjustment moves. If it does, your leg adjustment switch is faulty, if it does not the seats needs repairing. I hope this helps.

My mechanic replaced my control arms/ball joints for 150 bucks total if I remember correctly. I provided the genuine parts bought off Ebay for 200. Yes the parts themselves are not expensive and labor costs really depend on the shop doing the work. You would find huge price differences between what each one of us on these forums pays for repair. To drive or not to drive? The car ...

Hello fellow newbie....I just left the mechanic who was checking out my 2000 I've had for three weeks. He said I have a leak in the front and I immediately asked if I could convert the car to "non-Airmatic" and he said it was not recommended at all due to the computer issues. I too would love to hear a veteran's opinion (I'm sure there are many posts on the topic but can't drill down to one ...
