Nice car! Seller is in New West? Is he a dealer? Someone has brought over several of these Japan spec AMG's to Vancouver. There is/ was an Almandine or purple one around town and I occasionally see a 199 Black car, in Burnaby. All look excelent.

Headlight bulb recommendation

I had PIAA "chrome mirror white". They were H1 and 4100K. Despite the name, the bulbs were blue. The lighting: The good is they were white with a slight tint of blue. The bad is that you lose light compared to the stock non-coloured bulbs. I noticed this with the other brands too. Once the bulb is blue, you lose light.

I took them off to sell to a member and then he disappeared, so they are sitting in my living room boxed for shipping. I was selling him the lights, corners, HID kit, and 6-pin connectors, so basically they would be plug and play. Only things missing are the corner bulbs because I needed them when i put back my old lights. Up close looking into them they could be a little prettier i guess, but you can see from the other pics, they are black...

You can replace that small plastic connector, unscrew the hose clamp and pull the plastic bit out of the hose and take it to your MB parts guy and get a replacement - should be no big deal. You may need some needlenose pliers to get the broken bit out of the radiator side (looks like it broke right at the o-ring), you will see what I mean when you have the replacement in your hand.

Anybody ever tried to use a regular spring compressor on the mercedes? The one I have can get one grip out of the two on the spring top + bottom. I wonder if that would be safe enough to use?
Looks like a mercedes spring compressor is $170...so combined with $260 for springs I'll be paying over $400...ouch!

I don't have answers to your AMG questions, but I just have to say that these cars are timeless. It is a truly beautiful car, 20 years has done nothing to detract from the elegant design.
