Kieran 28, Because of the difficulty you encountered, I have updated the How-To Guide string on BenzWorld to make things easier for owners of cars with the CP-211. I have included part numbers in the post (I did not have them when doing he original post). Unfortunately, MBWorld does not allow update or editing of posts more than 24 hours after they are initially made, so I cannot update the early posts in this string. Readers here will have...

Update: Using PagePlus as a provider works perfectly on my stock 2000 W210 Startac CDMA phone. I'm stoked. Since this thread seems to be more targeted at those wishing to upgrade for more modern features, I started a new one with the details .

Ive used the Kenwood, it WORKS! Not a fan of Pioneer anymore, they have seriously lost me as a customer. Too many problems with their headunits. And the bull**** video in motion security features of their head units piss me off even more. The Kenwood just has a hand brake wire that you can choose to connect to the handbrake, or direct to ground for VIM, while the Pioneer has a speed sensor on the nav that cuts off video after you start...

There is a bulletin from 09/2009 talking about a new service tool for phone cradle adapters and BT adapters (it does some other tasks too). I assume JonMBZ is talking about this tool but I would be happy to have this clarified. The tool part number is W203 589 07 63 00 and it connects via USB to the SDS computer.

Handsfree communications for your car consists of three parts: 1) prewiring; 2) An MHI controller and other electronics (in the trunk), and an MHI contact plate in the center console phone compartment; and 3) either a cradle (for a plug-in phone) or a Bluetooth puck.
Because you have prewiring, you need to check to see if you have the second stage of the equipment (you have already said ...

I just inserted a cassette tape (took me a while to find one) and when I turned the radio on, that icon appeared
