My new winter "beater"
Decided I didn't want to drive the M3 in the snow this winter so I bought a car I have always loved since I was a young chap in high school. Don't know why but I just love the stately and conservative look of the w126 chassis Mercs. The car has a nice ride too. It's an 86 420 SEL with "only" ...

I have to l you that sounds pretty weird. I had SMG on my 02 E46 M3 and I had over 70,000 miles on it when I sold it. You certainly do not have to lift off the gas when shifting, though it does make the shift smoother. The SMG system operates very much like a traditional manual in the sense it has a single clutch. The SMG clutch should last longer than a manual though due to more precise ...

Yes, you can put a set in. Two ways:
If you have the pass-through and ski-bag, put them in using the ski-bag to use part of the back seat.
Sideways in the trunk, assuming you have small bag. Some of the bag's weight will be on the club-heads given how the trunk is laid out.
If I remember correctly, you can't ...

How do modded 335's compare to e92 m3 performance-wise?
I know this topic has been covered, but today I saw at least 4 heavily modded 335's and they looked and sounded pretty mean, still I know what they are packin under the hood and what mods are out there, but I dont know I guess ...

Went to a private track event yesterday, Famoso Raceway, and managed to get some decent times. Took me several runs to figure out what the best launch was with the DCT and the Nitto DR's.
The DCT has no problem heating up the Drag Radials, in the end I found the best way to launch was the same way I did it on my E46 M3 SMG, just mash the pedal, or "burnout" mode with the heated DR's and go....
