It's not even saying that they don't know what they are getting into or anything like that, or that the show is horrible--but people can't always be ready for the severe weight loss, PLUS the psychological effects that can have on someone.

While I won't deny vanity is existent, you have to admit there are health concerns with keeping the weight on. I've seen many seasons where they all go to a doctor on their first day and see all the health risks they've got with all the fat in them. More than enough contestants have cried and talked about their fears of dying too soon if they didn't lose weight.
