All of the benzo's will lower blood pressure even where there is true hypertension. Its just a matter of degree. I have heard people say that benzos dont lower blood pressure, but that is a crock of shit. I take opiates for pain and if you mix them with benzos you can have hypotension along with respiratory and cardiac depression, at doses that would not cause anything of the sort if you had take the opiates by themselves. They are not...

At the doctor my levels were somewhere around 160/105. At home they're ranging from 119-135/72-85, so sometimes just fine, sometimes a little elevated, but never anywhere near the range at the doctor. Yaz and myself are not close friends and I'd like to ditch her, and at the time my insurance wouldn't cover an IUD, however, I'm on a new plan and I plan to call and ask about that today (among other things, apparently my son...

The same thing happens with me if I do not know what is going to happen at the doctor (if I know the plan when I go, then I am better) or they are threatening me with needles, which tends to be a lot these days. It goes higher, but not SKY HIGH. I am curious also, how high are we talking about?

Beguile beat me to it. Most PTs will give you the isoband and handouts with your "homework". Do it. As often as he/she says to. If you are directed to use ice, do it. I injured my shoulder earlier this year, thankfully didn't need surgery, and I went to only one PT appointment. But, I did everything they told me to do at home, every day. And whatever my dr told me to do too. What type of surgery are you having? Do you...

I used to be on Yaz, they did warn that is causes high blood pressure ... other than that, everything beguile posted sounded like sound advice. My little brother had higher than normal blood pressure too and he runs miles every day. Apparently the high reading had something to do with big muscles, he used to lift a lot too. My dad wouldn't let him eat french fries for months because of it, lol.

I just had an MRI a few weeks ago... Anyway, never had surgery, and hope I never have to. Although, with my back problems, and the pain I have with PT, it may happen. I am going to try to avoid it for as long as possible. My dog has chronic pancreatic issues, I can only imagine how bad it is for him. He's on pain killers and special food.

I had that happen to me too. Not sky high, but apparently it would raise to
being higher than normal for a 20 year old when I went for these studies I
did to earn easy money. They said maybe I was just nervous. I never felt
nervous either though. Maybe it's because I was about to have a needle put
into my arm, which I don't mind, but maybe my body was anticipating it?
Usually my bp was normal. ...

I started a new workout schedule 2 weeks ago. 4-5 days a week, I hit the eliptical for a half hour at an interval hillclimb. It's enough to make me sweat and be out of breath; I'm not being too easy on myself. I do 1/3 of it forward, 1/3 in reverse, and finish the final third in forward motion. Should I be doing more??
I'm also doing pilates- the basic 10 moves 3 times a week and I ...

pregnant? or nervous about your upcoming wedding?
The other day I got myself into a puking contest over family stress over the stupid wedding. They want to invite the world and I keep telling them the more stress they put on me to add to my guestlist, the more likely we will elope and forget about it all.

introspection is productive though, at least i think so. Heavy thinking helps solve problems and relax me and clear up questions. I guess it serves a different purpose than meditation though.
I have a real problem trying to really clear my mind. I can't go blank like that.

So, you are willing to recommend it to others even though there is not
medical evidence that it works?

The FDA has the time. Its the herbal vendors who dont have 300 million
sitting around to approve a product as a drug. There is no incentive to do
so either since it cannot be patented. That is why these remedies were
grandfathered in and given exclusion from the authority of the FDA so long
as they dont treat or diagnose any illness. However, health claims ARE
allowed if they are phrased properly...

I think that it works for some people for some pain management. But any farther than that, I am unsure of claims made by those who practice.
