Beautifully written. Here, I am. One of those nights when I feel being philosophical so here it goes. Sometimes I wonder if my life flashed before my eyes so that I can see everything properly - all of the mistakes I have made, all of the time I have wasted, all of the times I worried about the dumbest things imaginable, all of the times I have taken someone or even life for granted - whether it would make me learn my lesson? I am a strong...

Hmmm. I've been much too nice to this guy; I think I need to draw a much harder line. I'm thinking about sending the following message, but I would like some feedback before I do so. And who knows, I'll probably change my mind in an hour. "J__ , listen. If you want to be in my life, do not text me. This is the 4th and last time I will say this. All subsequent messages will be unread and deleted. I do not want a a...

[SIZE=2]I think you should have one final conversation with your ex. In that conversation, even by email if easier or to make sure you say everything you want to say, you let them know how you feel, what you want and be as honest and caring as possible. Make it short and to the point. After that, there is nothing left for you to say and they know where you stand. Do not agree to be friends and do not contact him again. Then, it is up to him...

Weeeeell, you say that he could not commit. If that is the only reason that you two split up then it makes sense that he is contacting you and is happy to meet up etc. Because there is less need to commit now.
The dangers of this are:-
1) You are being a little bit of a doormat (no offence). He ends it with you cos he cannot commit so you have basically allowed this to happen. THe ...

Update-Missing X
Last night Pat came over. As friends. We hung out, watched some movies and just talked.
I had a revalation last night. We only really talk to eachother because in our minds college and the time we were together was one of the best times in both our lives. That's ok, but I think I finally realized that I can't ...

I am certainly not an expert, but go NC on her. I was a mess just a few weeks ago, but since going NC, I've heard that my ex who is now with someone else misses me and asks people how I'm doing. This doesn't necessarily mean anything, but absence does make the heart grow fonder. More importantly, I have a much clearer head and can prioritize other things over thinking about her. I'm not even sure...

Second chance for bold-faced liar? (bit long)
Hello everyone,
Here is my story: Ive been divorced for 3 years after a 15-year marriage. I get along well with my ex in raising our 12-year-old girl. And my ex now has a new boyfriend whom she loves dearly. Im very happy for her and we have never had any intimate contact since the ...

Well the answer is obvious, you don't.
Personally I think it sounds like your a little too happy at all these horrible things going on in her life, but maybe the way she treated you justifies that? I don't know, but from the way your talking I don't know why on earth you would ever even want her back. It sounds like bad news to me.

I was wrong. Within four minutes, she replied with, "Thank you so much, JayBee (her old nickname for me). That made me cry. I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend, too!"
It was the human thing to do because, regardless of how jaded I sound on here, I still very much care about her.

Whatever it was, you took him back so just try to focus on the present and your love. Forgive him of his past, and don't let these thoughts morph your perception of the relationship at this point. What's done is done, and you are back together now. One day in the future perhaps you will do something bad to him, and then he will take you back. In that case, you wouldn't like to ...

Unless the title is, "How to get me back" and it was written by your ex, I don't think so.

It depends on how you view him. Do you think he's a great person and it would be a shame to not have him in your life?
Based on your post, I can't tell whether he is honest or not. Maybe he values you as a person and wants you in his life. He's definitively not offering a second chance though if he was up front about not wanting a future with you etc. So there's no hope there. But there might...

I've not had sex with him since we got back together.
There's your reason.
Shallow as it is he probably is losing interest because of lack of physical side. I doubt this is a good sign.
Best bet is to talk to him and ask him why he is being distant again, but it looks like you have tried that.
Obviously he does not want ...

I think his complaint is immature. Everyone handles conflict differently. My ex used to be the same as you -- he wanted to walk away, cool off, and think before he spoke. I, on the other hand, wanted to hash things out right away, which sometimes led to hurtful words being spoken, on both sides.
Part of being an adult is learning to deal with different styles of managing conflict. I don't ...
