I think oil testing is conceptually interesting and (if you've trying to maintain a fleet of 1000 trucks, it can save huge amounts of money), but in our case I'm not sure there's really all that much value in doing it. It's a Toyota motor (kinda, sorta). Just go beat on it and don't worry so much. Plus, it's cheap, so you can always buy another one without breaking the bank. Still, thanks for sharing this.

Actually, just about any large organization with a fleet of vehicles has this done on a regular basis. It's a good idea as it can spot problems long before there actually is much of a problem. Given how much Kortik cares for his Matrix and the miles that he puts on it (nearly 100k at this point) I think its a good idea. Especially for someone that wants to keep the current car for a long time. I should probably do this for my track car.

lol, stealing my thunder. Yeah I'm in. Lets make it Sunday the 8th. Here's the link to the map . It's right off of 90. If you're coming from the south I recommend taking 900 up, just because it's a twisty road rough the woods, it'll be about 3-4 minutes longer trip though. Now, what time? Last year we did 9am, and a lot of people didn't make it until 10ish, which was rough on me as I ...

Been wanting to take the road between Vale and Union in the Elise, then over Dooly Mt. road... one of these days when I'm home visiting the folks. Just gotta watch out for the deer!! As a fellow Microsoft employee, you probably have seen our school bus yellow Elise. But I doubt that there are only two yellow Elise's in the Redmond area. It's not that rare of a sight anymore. I even see a red and a yellow in the garage I sometimes park in. JK
