Thanks for letting us ko what we've known since at least a decade ago.
Kind of like discoverign Beatles in 2009.
Or discovering that sky is bluish on a clear sunny day.
Looks like a major discovery you made today.

I, too, am experiencing the same problem. For years, I could quickly and
efficiently rename a batch of files in XP. When I try this in Vista,
however, files get out of order and it can't easily be rectified. If anyone
has a solution, please post it here. Microsoft: please fix this ASAP. It's
ridiculous for us to pay so much money for an upgrade only to have things
that ...

Because every darn thing in Vista thinks it needs to talk to someone?
Since installing ZoneAlarm, I'm amazed at all the processes that want to
talk to my router, DNS, want to "multicast" to who knows where, and, in a
few cases, actually call somewhere out on the 'net.
What does disk defragmenter, for example, have any damn reason to talk to
anyone? Just defragment, ...

You cannot change languages during an upgrade - whatever language you have
now must be the language you upgrade to. If the package does not say it
supports the language you want, then do not buy it as it will probably not
work.

I upgraded from Vista Premium to Ultimate last night and my Media Center
stoped functioning. MC now complains there is no tuner card. The PC is a HP
m7760n multi-media PC with Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1600. This set up was working
fine with me watching live TV last night until I decided to upgrate to
Ultimate.
I followed the instruction for setting a different user account ...

Hi
I finally got around to making a backup of my system comprising 227Gb in
total.
It took over 5 hour and at 346Gb I stopped it before it consumed all the
available space and deleted the whole stupid mess from my external hard
drive.
How can a backup of the system be bigger than the whole? It is supposed to
back up data files and the system which does not ...
