Dear Dr Gott, I am a 49 year old woman who smoked for the past 30 years. I am so ashamed to say I have been smoking for so long. I went for a CT of the heart b/c of chest pain. The report came back fine with the heart but detected a spot on the lung and a cycst in the liver. The report I recieved gives me the following: For the liver, there is a 2mm subpleural nodule along the lateral pleural surface of the right upper lobe. There are also...

Great news! Now, instead of dying from unexplained heart attacks, people can die of liver dysfunction, which statins cause in some people! Nothing like variety!

I looked up the price for Crestor 10 mg on drugstore.com . It was $111 for 30 tablets. With my RxDrugCard I can get 30 Simva statin 10 mg for $8. If it turns out that one statin is as good as another, I'm going for the generic!!

I am cautious of ALL studies done by Pharma. They are marketing, not science. In fact, it is not an exaggeration to say that the side effects from drugs are causing far more harm than good. I have a doctor friend who has ghost written for pharma. The evidence behind evidence based medicine is often made up!!!

I have high cholesterol, also, Zocor brought it down but all the while I felt weaker and weaker. When taken off, I suddenly felt like myself again!I cannot tolerate other statins, either, tried Zocor again and had a reaction that really scared me this time. I am at a loss as to what to do as I watch my diet carefully and the cholesterol still goes up and up without something. I am very sensitive ...

I check this web-site almost every day. And some of the people ask the same questions! If you read the whole FORUM just maybe someone has already asked your Question, and Possibly it's been answered! It just might help you sooner, rather then waiting, for someone to answer it again. I just read where Pfizers 2nd Quarter proof fell 48%! I think we should tell everyone how dangerous this drug is so...

I am a 47 year old woman who suffers foot cramps at night. I often eat a few small dill pickles before bed, or I pour a little of the pickle juice out of the jar-about 1/4 cup (2 ounces) and drink it. It seems to help my foot cramps! It is not so much the pickle itself, but the juice. Pickle juice is the liquid substance used to give cucumbers their salty, sour taste. It is usually made of water,...

Considering how over- medicated we are with pills that have a ton of side-effect reasons to NOT take them, maybe the economic crunch is doing us a favor. I think we'll also quickly find out that we can live very well without all the crap they sell us that we don't want or need except for the fact that they tell us we do. Good for the environment, too, since there's not enough landfill space on ...
