Interesting.. But as mentioned elsewhere on LQ (just to make one small point) this whole "
cloud computing" thing doesn't compute for me; it's like webmail, in that when it's down, everything's down. What portion of this Google OS will really be tangibly on your machine, and how much of it will be online somewhere?

Well, I think the NSA built one into several of the previous Winblows versions ... so I don't see anything new here. And of course they're going to deny it, why would anyone admit to it.

Somebody please explain to me the point of a laptop without a screen. If you're tying it to an external LCD or CRT, it ceases to be a portable device, in which case you're better off building a cheap desktop machine. Considering you can build a nicely appointed desktop for a few hundred, I don't see the point of
hamstringing yourself with laptop hardware.
