Not able run commands on console
Published (2009-12-08 23:16:00)
Progress, but you haven't in any way solved the problem. Now put things back one by one and find out what broke it. And then take them all out again and put them back in one by one in a different order to prove whether it was one of those things that broke it, or you ran over some boundary or you had some noxious interaction between those subsystems.

I2C Switch / bus interlocking
Published (2009-12-02 11:19:00)
I have an embedded system using multiple I2C busses and on each of those busses are several PDA9546A switches. Does anyone have any efficient solutions to maintaining switch coherency when devices on the bus are accessed by multiple clients? Linux seems to want to use the /sys/class interface, but without some sort of mutual exclusion to each of the switches and devices on the segments that they control there will definitely be problems....

Hi to all, this post isn't about any trouble I've found (yet) but about some questions about the viability of installing linux in a Buffalo LinkStation HD-H160LAN. I read in a non-related linux forum some people has some device called Kurobox running with linux and connected in almost any imaginable way with other devices. This Kurobox could run some programs 24/7 with a noticeable save compared to having a computer running the same...

Hello, The following code runs on a Core2Duo PC104 under 2.6.29 (vanilla): upon init, my device driver calls: virtual_address = (u32)__get_free_pages(GFP_KERNEL,4); physical_address = virt_to_phys ((void*)virtual_address); to allocate a buffer in RAM. I got a valid virtual_address The size of this buffer is (2^4)*0x1000 = 0x10000 On the user space I want to map this ...
