But I'll debunk you're idea that everyone in the boat was in danger. Only 4 species of sharks have been known to be fatal or attack humans unprovoked which are great white, oceanic whitetip, tiger, and bull sharks. So only 4 out of 360 species are a potential danger to humans in most cases when unprovoked. I don't think any of these live or that close to Antarctic waters except the Tiger shark, but it mostly inhabits the...

You did not say whether or not you rebooted the system. I think a major change such as this would not take effect until a reboot perhaps.

Lumak; This stunt has earned you an infraction. You may not find this in the rules, but please know that this kind of thing totally violates the intent of a forum such as LQ. Please do not do it again. reported for closure.

Like creating a topic that says "You will will find this funny (crude Humor)" and posting a link to something that is somewhat crude but freaking funny. Something along those lines

Well, actually ... Quote: There are not a lot of sharks in Antarctica. The only shark that has really been studied a lot is the salmon shark. The salmon shark has many rows of teeth and a huge jaw. The salmon shark can be brown and white or it can be brownish gray. The salmon shark can grow longer than eleven feet. Most of the time it stays up towards the top of the water. This amazing shark can swim in bodies of water as low as three feet. At...

Apparently, freedom (even just software freedom and freedom of speech) is regarded as a dangerous threat to some, dangerous enough to justify the deployment of police! I was apalled when I read this: http://digg.com/linux_unix/Boycott_N..._Software_C onf

http://www.embeddingwindows.com/8mb_windows98.html Windows98SE in 8MB!! The screenshot below is real. There is no disk compression, ramdrives or imaging utiltities involved here. Using our EOS software we performed an embedded installation of Windows98SE to a small 500MB hard disk. After booting to the explorer GUI our starting point was in fact a 17MB installation. All extraneous ...

Hi guys, I would appreciate if someone could help me out. I reformatted my computer last night, and re installed Windows. All my drivers were not installed, and it took me forever to find some of them online. When I right click on "My Computer", properties, hardware tab, and than device manager it, it says that I'm missing an Ethernet Controller, Multimedia Audio Controller, and Network ...

For all of you Distrowatch fans, Ladislav announced yesterday that he is resigning as editor of the Distrowatch Weekly newsletter. As far as I can tell, he will continue to support the main Distrowatch site. He states that health is his main reason for stepping down. I have personally received a lot of knowledge of the Linux community through his editorial and its associated blog. Many of ...

I've been using my.yahoo since at least late 90s. What I like about my.yahoo is that I can have stocks, weather, various news items, and easy access to my email. What I don't like about it is the changes they've made in the past year or two, to both form and function. The latest is that they seem to have different code on their different mailservers, and it's only a matter of time till they "...

I keep hearing about this saying: "Don't mix beer and wine." Well, why not? And what kind of wine with beer? Red or white? Is it really going to make you feel any more drunk than usual, or is this just a myth? What is the scientific basis of not mixing beer and wine, and again, what kind of wine, red/white?
