Don't think so. You could very well be right. And you are correct about the license plate surround being completely different, which in turn makes the upper part of the bumper defferent from the gen 1. I'm not sure if there was any change to the lower part of the bumper where the valance would mate up to. Check it out here. This is a pic I took in August of mine and 04lincolnls's LSes. Looks like they MAY not fit, but someone...

This is sometimes caused by a failing ignition coil, usually the #4 coil. I would check into that first. Otherwise, it is the electronic throttle body. There is a known design/manufacturing issue with the 2003 throttle body. I have heard that replacement parts are in short supply. If you do a search for P2107, you'll see some hits.

This is pretty common. I would put money on it being a wheel speed sensor throwing an error. This can usually be fixed by replacing that wheel sensor - and sometimes even just cleaning out the sensor(s).

if a battery is drained dead, then damage has been done to it, as mentioned before, all of the problems except the engine misses (which are not happening anymore) are symptoms of a bad or weak battery, did you actually have the battery tested or are toy just writing that one off as not possible? if you want to start throwing parts at it, by all means, go ahead

Step 1. pull down on the lower plastic piece of the shift knob:
Step 2. locate 2 screws that have now become uncovered:
Step 3. Remove screws, and remove knob.
Reverse steps when installing new one!

The LS doesn't have a coolant recovery tank. It has a degas reservoir. The difference is that recovery tanks are not pressurized. The degas bottle has no sensor in or on it. What are you talking about there?

I haven't had any of the major problems I hear about, like transmission
problems, which is probably the worst issue I've heard. Another is the
coils, I've had two go out but I took it in to the dealer and they changed
them out on both occasions for free because of a recal. Aftermarket
products aren't really there if you haven't noticed. But over all, I love
my car. Now you can get an LS for cheap...

Well I just did my 2000 LS V8 last week and I pretty much had the same
problems as you and a lot of others on here. I replaced the inner and outer
tie rod ends all around, the upper control arms all around, the lower
control arms in the front (back getting replaced in a week), stabilizer
links in the front(back in a week), struts and springs.

JerseySmith: spend $20 on a claybar system. Wash, Claybar, Wax your car to make it POP.
Spend $150 on a decent set of HID (dont go higher than 6000K). Another $150 on a LSE grill. TINT is a must! Stereo, Wheels, Engine mods are all optional, depending on your budget.
Spend some time (a lot of time) using the search feature here. LOTS of great information here. KNOW the ...
