Quoting bern So if I can't afford rent without a roomate then they won't allow the emancipation? Correct (in a nutshell).

Florida Emancipation Questions

If you do not have a job already that is sufficient for you to pay rent, food, clothes, utilities, transportation, medical care, insurance, school fees and supplies, and all the other incidentals of life, then it doesn't matter how many parents sign the petition. Emancipation is not EVER granted based on how bad your home life is. In the very rare cases that emancipation is granted, it is based on your proven ability to support yourself.

I have never heard of any child being emancipated because that child felt their parents were too strict. Let me add one other point... if the "too strict" is about this person you really want to date but your parents say no, you are wasting all of our time.

True enough... But, I can't call because my parents don't let me use the phones... That lack of freedom may I add has also caused me to develop Telephonaphobia. Look it up on Google.

Basically yes, I can afford rent with a roomate, I have parent permission, I have a job, a car to get to school and work. The only thing I wouldnt really have is being able to afford rent on my own. With everything else i'm set though.

I'd like to also mention that if you are planning on applying for financial aid in California, you will need your parents tax information... until you either get married or turn 24.... It doesn't matter if you support yourself; trust me I've been there... Plus, along with needing your parents info, you will pay more money for tuition because of your out of state residence...

My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: Ontario Canada
My daughter is 17 years old, she wants to be emancipated from her father. He is a recently convicted murderer and will be spending the next at least 22 years in prison. The issue is I took her to see him last week so she can get some things off her chest and he would not let her speak at all, he actually had the nerve ...

My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: washington.
I'm 17 years old, and have lived on my own since I was 13. I recently moved in with my grandmother, not that it's a bad thing, it's just not what I prefer. I go to an alternative school and it's only 2 days a week. I have a job, and I believe with a roomate I can support myself. I also have a car, I won't have my licence ...

OK, so.... I'm 15 years old, soon to be 16 in August from British Columbia Canada. I'm having too many problems going on at home... I hate it here. My father is abusive to me and my sister, and they are too over protective. I'm not allowed to leave the house on my own, I can't hang out with friends without getting a phone call every five minutes. I'm a good kid, I don't do drugs, don't drink, ...

My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: Oklahoma
I am a 15 year old and I was wondering if getting emancipated would allow me to do things that 18 year old people are allowed to do like smoke cigarettes? Any answers we be appreciated, but please no moral mumbo jumbo.

Is there any way to get emancipated after the age of 18? I am trying to get my FAFSA filled out and neither of my parents will give me information for it. I don't rely on them for anything and I haven't since I moved out on my 18th birthday in 2008. If I can't get emancipated is there anything else I can do?!

I have read and understood the requirements in order to be eligible for emancipation. But I'm stuck on knowing good reasons for it. For example, I read somewhere on this website that not agreeing with the way a parent is parenting does not count as a good reason to get emancipated. My question is what are some of the good reasons to get emancipated?

My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: Louisiana
Hi, my name is Steven, I was wondering cause somebody told me about being able to leave the house of your parents at the age of 17 without emancipation. They told me something like, "You can leave but can be denied to come back but not be thrown out, at the age of 17".
