You're most welcome Clement. This is more or less the solution I look for, and the one I implemented with an old Crumpler that I found at home. now I choose the smaller of the two I have, and guess what, It's too cramped and should have go for the other one. But also my Wista is bulkier than the Chamonix, and the rapid hexagonal plate that goes on my Manfrotto 3D 029 punches through everything with a very unmannered way. Hopefully,...

My humble opinion: I find both very frustrating. Buy a roll of black "gaffa" (NZ for cloth duct tape) at any hardware store and tape around the door in whatever room you stay in. most hotels/pub bathrooms do not have windows, so just tape around the doorframe and there you have a perfect darkroom. Just make sure the light switch is inside and wait a few minutes for your eyes to adjust to check for leaks. Even if youre staying...

I have all 3 of these, two changing tents, one changing box, one changing bag (which I dont use at all) While the harrison is my favorite, I won't toss away the changing box, as I use it to load jobo 3*** drums.

The tax value is what you could expect to sell it for, so get some actual completed sales data from ebay and keep that on file along with your receipt from the school. If it all has a pretty high value you might seek an accountant's advice.

I think the 3x4 may be a very good choice if you ever want to use longer lenses. The 2x3 Pacemaker is limited to approx 210mm at infinity and the lens boards are so small it's difficult to find a telephoto that fits. The Century 2x3 has an even shorter bellows. The Anniversary 3x4 will accomodate a 305mm at infinity and the lensboard is slightly larger so you'll have better luck fitting lenses... though the difference is small. I...

I'll second the dust issue with the changing bag. Not a very viable solution to me. Someone mentioned the fact that you cannot come back from a tent to a bag, that's exactly how I feel. I am currently gathering my gear for a coming trip. and for a second I considered taking the bag. I tried to load some wasted films and wow... I didn't remember that was so uncomfortable and bulky. Concerning the tent: I'm using a photoflex...

If I may, Jim and Frank, I think you're on the wrong track. I think he wants something that doesn't look like a camera bag. Like a messenger bag http://www.besportier.com/archives/b...senger-bag.jpg or something equally stylish.

My method was horribly basic. I bought some flat strips of brass about 1/2 an inch wide and belted them with a hammer until they became springy, worked for me. Used it, prooved it and I'm using the printing frame this week. Best wishes, Pete

This is the way to go and what I use: http://reallybigcameras.com/Feisol/Tournament_Clas s.htm Excellent tripod and superlight. Won't be enough for the 8x10. If you want one lightweight tripod that will do double duty with 4x5 and 8x10 then consider this one which I also have and I am pleased with it: http://reallybigcameras.com/Feisol/CT-3372_CT-3472 .htm

I think it depends on the format- I used a changing bag for years for 4x5, and when I had to load 8x10, I got a larger one- After one experience loading 7 darkslides, I immediately went shopping for a tent- Haven't used it yet, but it's got to be an improvement. It doesn't seem that much heavier either (Harrison 35mm size) Anyway, bottom line is, 4x5 is ok in a bag- or...

It seems very unlikely that any photo bag will meet your aesthetic standards. I'd suggest approaching a company such as Porsche Design to see if they'd create a custom shoulder bag design for you.

Sticky Arca-Swiss B1 Ballhead My Arca-Swiss B1 ballhead is really sticky. It will start good and loose, I'll lock it down to shoot, then try to re-loosen and it moves like it's filled with glue. The only way to loosen it back up is to give it a gentle-to-medium smack with the ball of my hand on the top of the camera platform. Should I ...

1541 will work for a chamonix 045n1 with lense <210mm, provided that you hang heavy bag on its hook and do not raise the center column. forget about anything beyond 210mm or raising center column.

I can't help with a conversion but I have a Graflex 2x3 roll film holder to fit the 3.25x4.25 I can sell for a reasonable price. However, shipping from the USA will likely be pricey.
