WOW, that much protein is awesome. I just wish they weren't so heavy on the onions! Wendy's chili is great until I start burping it for hours!!!!! That is why I love to make that other recipe at home, I can skip the onions and enjoy myself. Mimi

If you have a craving for indian food. Try Trader Joe's Indian Fare. My favorite is Dal Makhani, One serving has 170 cal, 7g fat, 20g carb, 3g fiber, 7g protein. Madris Lentil is another good flavor and has fewer calories.

What food DOESN'T make you PB?
Published (2009-11-25 15:28:00)
Gosh, I couldnt cope at that level of restriction! An hour to eat anything would do my head in. I can eat pretty much anything, but some foods are harder than others - unfortunately things like a tossed salad are quite hard and I often find I put salad on my plate and then end up leaving it there. But I need to eat those foods. I can handle bread, pasta and potatoes just fine. Steak is hard, but I'm not much for a slab of red meat anyway....

Funny that you say that, I am not a slab of meat kind of girl either...I rather nibble on turkey or chicken. Well the hour thing is only in the mornings when I am super duper tight, usually by lunch I can eat just fine but I still have way to many problems with bread and such so I just stay away. I use a crisp bread (wasa) instead, it seems to do the trick and I get my bread cravings in order.

I had all the thoughts you did 10 days before my surgery too!! it is completely normal. I remember eating something and thinking "It will be the last time I eat this". I found that to not really be true. As of this last fill I am definitely tighter and have to be more particular, but for the most part I can have atleast a "taste" of everything which is fine. I no longer have the feeling to devour, so it is...

Hormel Chili Recommendation -...
Published (2009-11-27 17:16:00)
I am not much of a cook either, but I think my turkey chili is pretty good. I start browning the meat while frozen on a low heat. This cooks off some more of that gross looking fat (I use 97% fat free turkey) and my cats love it so it doesn't go to waste. As it cooks I scrape away the fat and start breaking up the meat. When that is done I add: 1 15 oz can tomato sauce, 1 can of dark or light kidney or pinto beans, juice and all, a...

I am 9 days post op. I was wondering, does anyone where they live have any kind of restaurant or food service that caters to Bariatric patients? Especially in NJ. Also would that type of place be of any interest to you, whether you would eat there all the time or just go out for dinner once in a while. If you could let me know.
Thanks
Dorothy

Some will say they have issues with steak. I have issues with steak that is well done. As long as it's rare or medium rare, it works fine for me. Meat tenderizer (which is made with papaya enzymes) can make it easier to eat as well.
Lobster and shrimp? no problem at all. Almost everybody eats seafood with no problem.

I've never been a particular believer in drinking more thanm what you're thirsty for. Nor do I believe what you drink has to be plain water.
Coffee and tea and such DO count towards your water, you just might need a bit more due to the slight diuretic effect, which is virtually negligible anyway once your body is used to caffeine.
And I think the theory that when you're thirsty its ...

I am still able to eat sushi, but only about a 1/4 of what I used to eat. I don't have any problem with it, but I have heard that the seawood paper can cause problems as it does not break right down when chewed.

Like you experienced it will be physically hard at first but once you get it out of your system you are left with the mental cravings. 1)Try to find something else that you could drink and enjoy like crystal light. 2) picture in your mind a can of soda with a skull and cross bones over it.In other words- poison to you 3) think about how you hate being overweight and to be thinner there is a price...
