Hi all, I am 2 months post op and I have to admit that my excercise plan has been close to non-existant. I have 3 days off a week but on the days I'm at uni, I get home so late after an hour and 20 mins commute that I'm too shattered for anything else. I usually have assignments to do during the evenings too. I know I'm making excuses but up until now, I've been kidding myself that the 10min ...

September has officially ended, as has our exercise thread. So here's one for October. Anyone want to join me for some accountability?

I posted this in the Men's room but I am hoping someone else might have some insight as well. "I have done 90% of my "running" on the elpitical. 325 is alot of presure on the joints. A hell of alot better than 380 but still more than i need be in order to "run" on daily. Congrats on week 3. Have you been able to hit the BPM reccomendations consistanly? I find that I am not able to get the RPM ...

I hope I don't make anyone uncomfortable, but I am honestly concerned about how, if at all, having sex changes after the surgery. I mean after you are healed completely---Is it dangerous to feel weight on your abdominal area from your partner? Also, sex at times can require a significant deal of abdominal work--- sorry everybody, I really don't mean to get x-rated here, but I'm trying to explain...

I tried this for the first time tonight and it was so fun! I totally recommend it! You do it in the deep end so you tread water and you're moving the whole time! You wear a little floatie belt around your waist, so no sinking!

Greetings! I am hoping to find some good exercise equipment soon. I am tentatively scheduled for Lap Band surgery on October 20, and need to find cardio exercise that fits with my BMI of 40, scoliosis in my back, and recent foot surgery - low- or no-impact cardio exercise. I was looking at ellipticals, but my husband would prefer a recumbent exercycle. My doctor (not surgeon) suggested the ...

Ok, I tried this once before and got way to eager. I started moving quicker than designed. This time I will follow the guidelines. If you are not familiar with a Couch to 5K, it is a plan to go from not running at all to running 5k (3.2 miles) in only 2 months. It is very doable and such a great feeling of accomplishment. I ran/walked a 5k in May and it was one of the most rewarding ...

Okay so the other day my husband took the car with the baby's seat in it and I wanted to go to the store...I pack up the stroller and get my son ready and off we go...the store is 1.8 miles from our apartment and it is very very very hilly. I get down the first hill and half way up the second one when I stop and say "What the heck was I thinking?!" No stopping now though...I'll just walk to the ...

Knowing myself, I am not going to exercise unless I join a gym, health club, something. That is just me. I know if I spend the money I will use it. Pathetic I know, but I am being honest. Can anyone offer opinions on which one to join. I have contacted Curves, Snap Fitness and there a few private health clubs in my area. Just wanted people's opinion on what worked best for them. Thanks.

Hi Kids, I'm back from Vegas. Viva and all that good stuff. It was a great time and considering I'm sick with a head cold, yet the fuck again, we had a blast. The bike ride didn't go as well for me as it did Alison. It was 5 miles up, up and up some more. I made it to the top, I walked quite a bit but it was beautiful!!! However the next mile was down, down, down. And now comes the excuses...

I spotted this article on a side bar on my online news this morning: Fancy footwork—FitFlop fitness craze . Their website is here: The FitFlop Anyone tried them? Is it all hype or does it make a difference?

I suggested to Val that we set up this thread so that those of us who are walking on Saturday can check here to see who is going, and then let others know that they are going. This way hopefully new people will not arrive and be alone. We meet at Delaware Park at 8 am, there is a snack bar (formerly called the Juicery) where we all meet. So for Saturday, August 2, 2008, I will be at the ...
