Erratum : sorry, ignore my comment about LC's post and the 50%. My reply was based on his first suggestion, not his second! But for what it's worth, he's probably right. More is not necessarily better and sitting behind a desk is torment for some kids. We should be much more flexible. It's a bit radical, but I have often wondered whether the the best system might be to allow kids, if they so wished, to leave school at 14...

Perhaps we get the politicians we deserve.
The thought that 22% of Britons would seriously consider voting for the BNP (if this is a reliable statistic, which I suspect it is not), depresses the hell out of me and make me feel ashamed to be British.
The only crumb of comfort is that 78% would not .

I have seen variations of this on different landlords ads on and offline.
One said "since the house is in tip top condition we will not accept any DSS tenants" which I found offensive as it gives the impression a DSS tenant is likely to trash the place when a working tenant is just as likely to.
Another said "As you expect no DSS tenants or pets wanted but if you had a pet I am willing ...
