Erratum : sorry, ignore my comment about LC's post and the 50%. My reply was based on his first suggestion, not his second! But for what it's worth, he's probably right. More is not necessarily better and sitting behind a desk is torment for some kids. We should be much more flexible. It's a bit radical, but I have often wondered whether the the best system might be to allow kids, if they so wished, to leave school at 14...

Worry not Jeffrey, I've just had a 4 day enforced break due to hackers getting into the servers of my internet suppliers. I'm ashamed to say I was suffering withdrawal symptoms from not getting my daily quota of pithy comments.

The only crumb of comfort is that 78% would not . I watched Nick Griffin squirm and lie his way through the programme and I thought ...

One said "since the house is in tip top condition we will not accept any DSS tenants" which I found offensive as it gives the impression a DSS tenant is likely to trash the place when a working tenant is just as likely to. Another said "As you expect no DSS tenants or pets wanted but if you had a pet I am willing ...

Christmas is getting out of hand, and before you say I'm a killjoy, I actually love Christmas, not for myself but for my children. The problem is it's not just about the family anymore, making Christmas cards, school concerts, carols these all pale into insignificance compared to the mass spending we feel we have to do every year. It's like a rat race, with pressure from the media bordering ...
