Thinking about buying a Gallardo...

You're going down the right path. Everyone here has pretty much summed it up. I have a friend that drives his older Gallardo in fair and foul weather. The 560 is in no way under-powered and the earlier Gallardos at 520hp and AWD isn't a laughable power decrease. As for insurance, just call your local rep and ask them for pricing and if they actually cover it. As for repairs, I'm sure you're seeing visions of change and when...

Sorry I got a little carried away, if the previous replies before mine were more like the ones by detour_racing I probably wouldn't have resorted to that. Also, I'd like to add that we're trying to get our hands on the traffic video footage. A few of the workers there have already seen it, which is why me and my friend were pretty irritated upon hearing his statement regarding the cause of the accident. If we get it on the net,...

Yes they are rough and the rear likes to come out easily. I want something I can drive more often and be more comfortable and the Gallardo seems to be the way to go for me.

the g wont get away from you as much as that viper...for better or worse...04 seems to have had issues...05 and up gets you the front lift system...e gear is easy to use....what a car....i find the comfort in the g significantly better than the viper...but the viper feels more like a racing cockpit with all those gauges and power....the awd system will give you much better control...lets face it at the end of the day, a viper is still just a...

Another Lamborghini Dealer...
Published (2009-12-16 12:16:00)
A few years ago, I was thinking about buying a Diablo or Countach. It was so unbelievably easy a couple years ago. Home equity loan! Banks called me every few days offering me a home equity loan. My primary bank was begging me to take on a 6 figure line of credit. If you went that route, the interest is deductible on your taxes. Banks were begging to give me the money and I could have written the interest off on my taxes. I had options to pay...

Where in Canada?
Budget $3K per month on maintenance, depreciation, gas, insurance, etc. for a Gallardo. Less for a Countach.
If you can afford that, it is your personal choice to get a G or Countach. Two compeltely different cars. The G is a daily driver. The Countach not. Here in BC you can talk to guys who have either.
You will need to visit a Lambo dealer sooner or later with ...

e gears tend to have more problems than the manuals... but thats to be expected as there are more parts to break.
clutch life on the pre '06 cars tends to be worse.
if you dont make a lot of money thats fine, but remember the parts and insurance on these are pretty high.
PS let the wife drive the car are you nuts?

Spoke to them on Dec. 15, their last day.
They are working on setting up Lambo service. There will be service available soon, as their lambo tech has the tools to do it, and is looking to set up shop somewhere.
Not sure if it will be for warranty work yet, as still working out details with Lambo SPA.
Stay tuned. They will advise customers as soon as they are up and running. It ...

In terms of length you are okay -- the car is 4.3 m long.
In terms of width it is gonna be tight -- the car's body is 1.9 m wide, but
the mirrors bring this to 2.15 m. They can be folded upwards, to make it
a little less narrow... but... you will need room to open the driver's door.
And that door is long (i.e. it has to ...

When my friend needed his flash they told him to ship it to NY, 6 hours away to have the flash and now that the new Boston one is open he is breathing a sigh of relief.
I would say keep an eye out for a new one to pop up. It seems Lamborghini is being very aggressive about getting new dealerships opened to accommodate folks, but don't expect to be taking it to Audi to get it repaired.

You bought an LP560-4, and now would like to sacrafice the performance of
the car, for a tire that will last longer?? I am honestly surprised you can
get 8000 miles out of a set. I ride sport bikes and get about 2500 before
the tires need replaced. When it comes to performance vehicles, my
personnal opinion is it is always a bad idea to go cheap on something as
important as traction, for a tire ...

1) is your parking spot indoors or outdoors?
2) did you intend to buy new or a slightly used car?
if the answer to 1 is outdoors... find a different place to live first.
if the answer to 2 is new... rethink, you'll want to have money left over for the insurance/maintenance.
as a male at age 20, your insurance on a lambo is going to be insanely high.
