we went out to eat and it was yummy! thank goodness for chinese restaurants that opens on holidays. i do have a real turkey feast coming up on saturday with my friends...so no worries.

Quite awhile back, like 25yrs, I was a daycare teacher. My class consisted of 12 / 3yr. olds. This was one of the activities I really enjoyed doing with them. When my girls were all old enough to participate, I taught them how to make these tree ornaments. It is alot of fun and I haven't done these since the girls were little. I guess it's time to introduce two of the gks to it. Those are really cute. Thanks for refreshing the idea...

Thanks for sharing the stories.......at least I know I'm not the only one who this happens to! Of Course, it just has to be when you are in a hurry too! Oh well, got the pies made last night and everything turned out to be just fine!

Oh do I feel your pain. Wanted Sloppy Joes the other night, put out the hamberger (thank goodness the furkids left it alone). Had to run to Target and figured I would get hamburger buns there. YEAH, they had them. At the check out the checker bagged everything and set it in the cart. Got home - no buns. Deb, it's more of a kicker that the huge beautiful million dollar building Pfizer built and has been occupying will more than likely close it's doors in 2011. The brilliant state of CT gave Pfizer, a billion dollar company, a tax free agreement for 10 yrs. I guess they were planning on Pfizer helping the community for this break. Well...now that Pfizer has merged with another huge pharmacutical company and that 10 year tax free...

18 min a pound, unstuffed. if you dont overcook the turkey it will be fine. most folks overcook.

Ugh!!!! I can so totally feel your frustration. He's acting like a little turd because he gets away with it. It must be totally confusing for this child because sometimes he gets in trouble, sometimes he doesn't, he doesn't understand the rules, and he doesn't have structure. Kids NEED structure, bottom line. They need to understand the rules, and they need to know what happens either way.

Years ago when we had 2 dalmatian puppies, and yes they are looney like labs, we put the tree inside a garage sale baby play pen. Understand some put the tree in a room that can be gated off or you can put it inside an x-pen. Now we just make sure that all low ornaments are nonbreakable - actually we use organics so a taste testing is safe. Also watch out for packages. The furkids sometimes ...

Is it hunting season ... perhaps a few closely placed shot gun blasts to scare them off...If the mom has pups she's not going to want to move on..
If you can't bring yourself to get rid of them hire a hunter to do it....I believe most states allow a year ...

Yep, I love Thanksgiving...
I always cook Christmas eve and my sis cooks for Thanksgiving. We will be spending Thanksgiving over her home. However, I do cook a turkey the night before so we can have the famous turkey sandwiches to munch on.

Boss is on vacation......and I have absolutely no motivation to be working right now.
It is just after 3pm here on the East Coast and I get out at 5pm.
I feel so horrible for complaining seeing that there are thousands of people out there without jobs.
