It could be just that he loves it...and wants more... In truth I've not seen any bad effects feeding this diet...Horizon..I love the formulation....but Satch's ears started getting yeasty...so I felt it reasonable to try EVO Herring and Salmon ...my local boutique pet store sells Natura products..so easier to get than Horizon... Should I switch his food?

If he's having *that* much diarreah, sounds more like a parasite, giardia, etc.....I would definitely do both, i..e putting him on a bland diet of homecooked chicken/rice as well as taking him to the vet, along with a very fresh stool sample. They'll be asking for one. Over-feeding though is the leading cause of loose stools in dogs in general, but not to the point of causing that much diarrea, unless you're drastically...

Definately rule out any parasites, etc. Another thought, you may be feeding too much. As much as a quarter cup too much can cause soft stool or even the runs. How much are you feeding?

My boys appetites have seemed to increase in the past couple of weeks too but I think it is because of the cooler weather and not the food they are eating. Guess they want to pack on the pounds for the coming ice age!

I bought something today called In Clover Fresh Digest. It has no lactose in it, so if she is lactose intolerant, then this shouldn't bother her. It is supposed to help with her problems. She gets only kibble for treats...nothing else. I also bought CN lamb and rice today, so I'll start switching her over tonight and mixing in the In Clover powder. I'll try this for a few weeks and see if it helps. If not, I'll try...

The new food may be too rich for him, causing him to have an upset stomach.
Constant diarrhea in a puppy could mean a number of things...you may want to bring him into your Vet. I would not take any chances with a puppy.

I don't know how much you're feeding, but it sounds like cutting down might be the answer. It's a simple enough thing to try. Typically, bags of dog food often overestimate the quantity by 1/2 - 1 cup (at least with adult dogs). It's such an individual thing depending on your dog's activity level, metabolism, etc. Maybe try cutting back by 1/2 a cup for the daily allowance and add a spoonful of ...

I believe they can have most fruits and vegetables. Just no onions, shallots or grapes. I have also heard no mushrooms, but I'm not sure... I don't eat mushrooms myself so I've never really researched it. I give both of my dogs 1 apple per day, some carrots, an orange, and celery. They love fruit and veggies! Watermelon and cantaloupe are also favorites!

The ingredients don't look to bad for a Purina product. At least their is no CORN in the food which is a good thing.
The only concern most people have about feeding fish based food is if the preservative Ethoxyquin is used. The manufacturer sometimes does NOT add this to the food, but the supplier of the fish may add it. So you have to find out from Purina if this preservative is used....

Have you had the vet run a thyroid function test. My dog Betsey is like that, she is a beagle/jack russell mix, not a lab. After she was about 4 or so months old she became a glutton. Never satisfied with what food we gave her. I started to feed her more thinking she was not getting enough food. She balloned and by the time she was 12 months old was almost 15 lbs. overweight. The vet ran a ...

Are the supplement you use liquid or pill form? If they are pill form you could make up daily ziplock bags, everything in 1 bag for that day.

When Socket was on his diet, I found that frozen green beans worked best for him. I don't know if it was a texture problem, but he had a hard time getting the canned green beans out of the food dish. He tended to smush them all at the bottom of his dish and would sit there trying to lick them out for about 15 minutes. He was eventually successful, but using frozen green beans just worked ...

Not sure if any of those foods are grain free or not. Some dog owners get good results feeding a grain free food.
You many also want to try EVO Herring and Salmon, it's grain free also. It's fairly new and my dogs been eating it for about a month now and love it. The down side is that it is very expensive IMHO, so what I do is mix it half and half with Innova at their evening meal.
