What, did I stutter? My point was, they spun it as a case of having found exactly what they came searching for, making it sound like the bacon probably came from the farmer in question and they nabbed Bayless redhanded, when in fact the idea that "you share a supplier with someone doing bad things, therefore you must be too!" was always illogical, there's no reason to assume the bacon has anything to do with that farmer,...

Two updates posted on Sula's story. The first says that E&P is ceasing operations and issued this statement: "In the next months we promise to work diligently to make our company legally operational. We will keep you informed of any new developments." While I am sure others feel differently, I think it is good when business are operating legally. The second update says: Quote: The folks at Frontera just told me...

Yes, an actual journalist (and a good one at that) living in a report-now, research-later world. The piece was in Reader's "Blog" section, a heading which otherwise respectable media outlets seem to believe...

The Bloody Bacon & Cheese
Published (2009-12-18 00:03:00)
I thought the Bloody Bacon & Cheese showed some promise. The only big change I'd make is I'd replace the condensed soup with some Mr & Mrs T's...I think I'd enjoy that, especially with the grilled cheese garnish. The other two, on the other hand, I don't think I'd touch. Watching them drink (and chew) the ham daiquiri made me gag a little.

Well, and can't and don't they test fish for that stuff? After all, isn't that where all the fish advisories for wild-caught fish in our own Lake Michigan come from - testing of sample fish? Again, it seems that they've made an assertion without evidence, in this case one where evidence should be readily available.

Quote: So all this is real, no matter that there are some who find it freakishly outlandish to imagine that raiding maybe the most famous chef in town could possibly have anything to do with Sula's story a week or two earlier. While every "journalist" would like to think that their stories have far-reaching implications, it takes a real ego to link these two events. Sula was very quick to declare himself the center of...

"We can't stop you from supplying meat to E&P, but we can take away two of your very best customers (Bayless and Sherman) if you don't stop." Which would be a serious violation of their regulatory authority, and possibly merit prosecution of the agents involved if...

My experience is that reminding the overground of the underground is a self-defeating exercise.

That's one of the most ridiculous pieces of journalism I've read in a long time. "We asked the President of the Don't Eat Corn Fed Beef Society what people should avoid. He said corn fed beef" "Then we asked the Chairwoman of the Association Against Milk With Hormones what people should avoid. She said milk with hormones." "We also asked the Director of People For The Consumption of ...

From the March 9 edition of the Chicago Reader 's Restaurants section:
It's the Food Issue and the featured piece is Your Top 50, which lists the top 50 restaurants in town, according to the Reader's raters. Needless to say, the LTH presence is significant, with contributions by Mike Sula, David Hammond, Gary Wiviott and others.

Very interesting, my brothers final project for his MBA ( Loyola, Chicago) was this exact same thing. They created a program that restaurants or bars would use that would put orders directly into the kitchen, then the server would bring them what they ordered. I will let him know.

quickly glanced at the article at it says the place grossed 13million with a 400 seat restaurant. That sounds far fetched.
