their open face turkey sandwich is fantastic as well. i would always go with that or the pot roast sandwich when i get over there. not a big fan of their meatloaf actually.

I love those "can't forget Chicago" type dinners, when out-of-town visitors come and I can show them a unique experience they won't get at home. There are several places I like to go. Everest, which you mentioned, is indeed one of them. The view from the dining room on the 40th Floor of the Midwest Stock Exchange Building looking out at the city is magnificent. Jean Joho's French cuisine is ...

Cool, great find. 32 tables seems a lot, was it very busy (or were you too early to really tell)?

Yu Chan , on Saturday night. Not really sure of its location, but it's near Big Bowl downtown. It was empty, and it turns out there's a good reason for that!! My family and I sat down to peruse the menu, and decided that nothing was really jumping out at us, and decided to hop on the train and eat somewhere closer to home. We ordered potstickers & crab rangoon to go. BIG mistake. The ...

I just had lunch there with Ronnie Suburban. An aside, my choice in selecting the Pancho Viti thread was largely to put a period to close it off. No intent to be a disservice to the new owner, who I met today and has a loyal following of his own. He said when he opened his doors on Sunday there were people waiting to come in. All without any advertising beyond changing the ...

The best thing I've eaten lately was the Lamb Boti Kabab Masala at India House in Buffalo Grove. I couldn't believe how good it was. I almost couldn't come up with words for it, other than "This is unbelievable. It's just unbelievable." There are so many layers of flavor, it's simply incredible. The lamb, which was incredibly tender, was marinated and cooked in the tandoor, so it started with ...

I finally made it over here for lunch yesterday before hitting a matinee. My boyfriend and I each ordered a Polish with everything and a dipping dog. Wow, the fries are so good - they're so light and crispy. I definitely prefer these fries to Hot Doug's and fRedhot's. At the other two venues, I always felt like my order of fries was not much more than fried skins with a little potato. Here,...
