Silly LS6 Intake Question
Published (2009-11-26 06:05:00)
That was the scariest part of the port. i read a few different posts. I'm buying my time and surfing for that killer deal on a used stock TB as my practice part. It is mostly to goof off. If i screw it up, well, I still have stock parts, . About a year or so ago i was super lucky and picked up a nice used stock MAF for like 30 bucks or something crazy. I'm not building a race car or even a bracket racer. I just want to goof off and...

If you haven't paid the ticket yet, I'd fight it. Supercop is obviously speaking from experience. I thought his title was just that "a title". I didn't know he was really a cop. You could win this one, man. Go for it.

Silly LS6 Intake Question
Published (2009-11-25 17:34:00)
The high horsepower crowd on here all agrees that the stock MAF can feed almost 500 hp. Messing with the MAF only screws up your A/F ratio unless you are getting a tune to compensate for it. Porting the T/B will result in some gains, just be careful not to get into where the blade seats against the housing as this will allow additional air into the engine at idle and lean things out. They also have a bump stop mod to ensure that you have 100%...

Well some header brands weld a tag on one of the primaries. I know pace setter does this but im pretty sure flow tech does not. Other than that there isnt really a way to tell

When I purchased my Magnaflow catback, I laid the stock system and Magnaflow on the floor side by side to compare them. I really can't say that there was a great difference between the two: My understanding is that you'll pick up a few horsepower at best. There may be greater gains from the exhaust swap with H/C/I or forced induction though. If nothing else, it will certainly sound...

My dmh cutout came with a roll switch. You just hold the bottom part of the switch for a couple seconds to open it and the opposite to close it. Not really sure what the difference is between other brands but I've had this one a couple years with no problems.

Install - NOTE - Before starting, make sure you have all your parts and tools, test fit anything such as y-pipe to verify fitment. You don’t want to be stuck with a part that doesn’t fit. - Remove negative battery cable (or both if u wanna). - Jack the car up and put it on stands or lift if your lucky enough. I did the whole install with only 18” of lift, but made for a very ...

3" cutout in the I pipe. Sounds great and doesnt mess with the emissions. If you dont want long tubes dont waste your money on shorties. The stock manifolds flow just as well. J

if your gunna be cam'ing your car it is going to want to breathe, the most air in and the most air out as quick as possible. I saw 21rwhp with my 92/92 set up (with torquer 2 cam)....the shop where i had my car dyno'd said on a stock LS expect around 11 hp. I did notice the difference when i drove it after the intake swap. As for the MAF about 97% of people will tell you the stocker is always ...
