I'm in the middle of reinstalling my T56 back into my car after rebuilding it and replacing the clutch, and I'm having an issue that I can't figure out. I can lift the trans up and into the clutch splines and slide it in, but when the trans is about 1/2" from the bellhousing, it just stops and won't go in any more. I've tried taking in and out about 5 times, I've tries grinding the alignment...

I was looking at the firewall where the clutch master cylinder comes out on my 2001 SS and the braided line that runs from it under the heat shield to the transmission has a yellow tag on it that says GM V6 Only. What does other peoples say? Is there a difference? I know the previous owner had the clutch master changed at the dealer because of some kind of noise. The vehicle shifts fine ...

Ok a little background info first. I recently went from a 4l80e setup to a t56 setup. Its a sixspeed inc lvl 4 trans with a cartek lvl 7 clutch. Like a dummy after installing the master and pedals I couldnt figure out why the pedal wouldnt move so I took the master back out and hooked it to the slave to make sure it worked. Well I pressed the master all the way down and of course it worked and ...

k my car dosn't like second gear when i try to go into second it grinds or it just won't let me in. this only happens in winter until the trans gets warm then it is better i can usually play with the clutch a little and get it to go in. in the summer it shifts great and basiclly falls into gear so is this syncros or is it something else. i would expect syncros to do it all the time.

What do you guys recommend for 300-400 rwhp/rwtq? Everybody's got a different opinion on clutches and there all over, want to try and get it all in one place. So what do you recommend as a replacement for stock to full bolt-ons? Sorry if I didn't get everything up there, as clutches are still chinese to me, trying to pull what I read from the various threads and couldn't find a good answer.

first off let me say that i DD a 98 trans am m6; equipped with an aluminum(?) pistol grip shifter. i love the pistol grip shifter to death and i really dont want to go back to stock style, but i do have my eye on the c6 vette knobs. anyways, and im sure many other people experience the same thing, but when you drive first thing on a cold winter morning, the metal pistol grip is cold as F**...

I installed the LS7 clutch kit and a new f-body OEM slave (Dorman CS360058 from Summit) on my '98 Formula. If car is stopped and engine is running I can't get the tranny in ANY gear even after driving it for 2 hours. Since the engagement point starts out near the floor, I had hoped the self adjusting mechanism would raise the engagement point so it would begin to completely disengage. It ...

ok well i need help decideing between two clutches. I am either going to go with the Ram powergrip HD, or the spec stage 3. If you vote or even if you don't explain why you chose what you chose. This car is my daily and currently has the powergrip HD in it. This particular car makes over 420rwhp and weighs 3825 lbs. I like the powergrip but just checking out what the spec is about.

I was with a good friend letting him drive, my car. well anyways he told me about not using the clutch i was skeptical. Till he showed me, you gotta easy off the gas an pull back on the shifter very lightly. The gears dont grind or anything. I thought you could only do it in big trucks semi's an such. But it worked fine in my car, will this affect clutch wear or increase stress on parts. ...

I ran my car at the track yesterday and the clutch I'm running is a mcleod single disk. If I try to slip the clutch on the launch it wont grab until I let off the gas, then I can finish the pass like nothing happened. If I hot lap the car the clutch wont grab on the launch until I let off the gas, but I can still finish the pass like normal with no slipping at all in upper gears. If I try to ...

my friend and i have just finished putting a mcleod single disc clutch in my car and today we were bleeding it but we are having some issues. We are bleeding the clutch the "hard" way by getting underneath the car and opening up the bleeder screw but for some reason it isn't working. I was in the car pumping the pedal and holding it to the floor when he would crack the bleeder open while my ...

Problem: Shifting quickly is IMPOSSIBLE in my car. If you press the clutch in and try to shift into any gear you either get a "block" for about a split second before it goes into gear. If you don't get the "block" you hear a high pitch/clunk sound coming from underneath the shifter or somewhere there. They both let you engage the gears, but its not smooth or safe sounding. Here is the catch ...
