looked at SLP's site, but did not see flow numbers. If the flow numbers were comparable to ported 243 then I would consider it- SLP is an overpriced monster so I doubt buying from them will provide me any kind of value.

I think I understand now that keeping the some CR pistons and using lower compression heads will allow for extra power. But will either the 317 heads or the L92 heads allow for enough boost to make 900+ rwhp when used with factory CR forged pistons? So can any of you guys give me specifics on what's needed to make the 317's or the L92's come together on my motor???

HAHA, just what svede said... it is pretty much hit or miss. I didnt use the spacer and my pedal is still too high . If I knew what I know now, I would have definitely went another route. Right after I bought my clutch, Monster started marketing theirs

What do I think? Banging an engine off the rev limiter (much less a twin
turbo engine) repeatedly to try to get the tranny to shift = massive fail.
Now do you not only have something wrong with your transmission but most
likely some engine work to do. Good luck though.

If those specs are right, that's the biggest split pattern I've ever seen.

i dont believe the oil and water pump replacement is needed. the chain
probably not so much either. im a big fan of reusing stock parts unless
they absolutely have to be replaced. might want to look into a stall
converter though and some supporting mods! (i.e. fast 92, headers, exhaust,
etc.)

Hey Eric, I can't help with recommendations on internals but I just wanted to give you a heads up that most people don't have problems with boost at 8 PSI, mainly because most setups make quite a bit less horsepower at 8 PSI than my motor did. I guess my turbo setup is a little more potent, and 640 rwhp through an A4 is walking on thin ice with the durability of the bottom end. Again, that's ...

I can't believe they're that cheap-
If they are the same heads people here use, then there is no wonder they are so popular....I might pick up a set.
Kinds sucks though, I just spent a few hours porting the intake manifold for my ls2, and still have the other side to go.

depends on what your goals are. if you are looking for big power na then go
aftermarket. if you want a mild build na then work the 243's. AI in north
carolina does great work on heads.

Yes, it is the most important part of the oil change.
There are people that change the filter every 3k miles, but leave the oil in for 2 intervals.
Swap a new one in, you may lose a quart, but it would be worth the $20 to do so....even if it's within 1k miles. You should be okay for a little while.

It should be ABS plastic.
It's bigger than the LS1 because the TB is bigger.

looks good enough
I was running 48-50 at 6800 rpm and the engine needs a rebuild now.
