Long Term

A view seems to be forming that the rally is over and that markets will bottom around 2015. God almighty itagas I know that you dont want to spread false hope but 2015 is a little pessimistic - no ? The first fall was August 2007 and then the real fall last August/October . Surely as the markets turn and they may turn quickly 2011 is hopefully the year when it takes off again. I'm sticking to over £1 for LLoyds this time next...

The prospects for LBG and the wider UK economy are unlikely to hinge on the next election, which is looking to a hung parliament, coalition or minority government. Oddly if lloyds was to return to "business as usual" then the current political status quo might suit! IMHO.

Ignore. Thankyou for your understanding..in our time of need. The personal insults against us..the small savers and investors .... once believers in this once great bank ..are hard to take. However, they cant ever dispute the facts and the truth ..that we gave our trust to the Executive Management and the BOD ... only nowto be ruined and financially forsaken . They are right..This Lloyds open discussin board has no place for truth, honesty or...

Political polls leave investors...

Political polls leave investors looking for new direction No wonder this scenario has rattled markets. The UK is heading for a budget deficit this fiscal year of 12.4 per cent and net debt as a percentage of gross domestic product of 55.4 per cent. Net debt to GDP is expected to rise to 65 per cent next fiscal year. http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/6adbb18e-dbbd-11de-9424-00144feabdc0.html

Yep - look at JJB, oo was 25p, i think from memory it got about 28.8 at the lowest, currently hovering just above 30p. Its the only one I have seen though, the SP dipped below on MEC (recovered temporarily a few months later), LLOY and YELL which just recovered today to 42p.

Newbee,
No not really. What he's saying is that because the rights issue is 1.34 for each 1 it means that, when it's all finished, they'll be 2.34 shares issued for every 1 there used to be. Basically the existing 27.16bn shares increases to over 63.5bn.
As such there's massive dilution of your holdings unless you take up the rights offer - same number of actual shares but the %age of the ...

The Buffet one I like the best is the one you mention, for ltbh investors it makes enormous sense.
"Investors will mistakenly think falling stock prices are bad. "If they reduce the price of hamburgers at McDonald's today I feel terrific. Now I don't go back and think, gee, I paid a little more yesterday. I think I'm going to be buying them cheaper today"
I've just bought some more Lloyds,...

Saloot, it's front page news in the Financial Times (tomorrow) it will probably shock the market that UAE are not coming to their aid. They waited until their stock market closed for holidays (until December 6th) to announce it.

Yes, it's Saturday night and you post something like that!!!!
My multiple choice question is...
Take a poster call it F_B_A X 1 (the only one) = ?
(A) Somebody who doesn't drink.
(B) A Vicar
(C) Somebody in a secure unit who has access to a computer and the internet!
All done in the best possible taste......

No point in taking the rights issue?
This is still a 50% instant profit on taking the rights issue......
We knew this was going to happen....there's a lot of tail swallowing and disposals against far fewer buys.....
....I'm sticking on the BARC board until this is done now as I'm fed up with reading posts telling me what I already new as if it's just being discovered.
I'll be back in ...
