Happy Feet has a lovely
shades of red sock wool. Universal's Pace has a nice red. I want to say Paton's Kroy has a good red also, but its been too long since I looked at it.

I've always liked working with Sirdar Snuggly. It's acrylic and soft with good texture to hold its shape. It is machine washable and dryable, reasonably priced, good yardage per skein. I'm sure there are other baby yarns that are nice, but the LYS in my area carried the Snuggly, and I've always found it reliable. for
the new arrival!

That is very cool looking! "Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, 'I will try again tomorrow.' "

From what I've gathered over the years Zephyr is at the fine end of laceweight. Anything that is much finer than Zephyr is probably cobweb. Zephyr is 30 wpi. Eunny Jang gives some yardage ranges for laceweight, cobweb and gossamer weight yarns on her website too. There are no official standards for anything finer than
fingering which is why you have be careful ...

Just my thoughts: I wouldn't rewind it before re-skeining the wool, and handwashing it before winding. I would also wind the wool by hand, giving it gentle tugs once in a while, noting places where it is weak or whatever. Hand winding is a great way to really "get to know the wool". Anna
