A trip via Fairford (to find it smothered in fog and little being visible) ended in a trip to Staverton, both for dinner and to photograph some light aircraft. This was going fine, then a surprise came chugging over the airfield and stayed for a rotors running refuel. Light was tough as the sun was quite low, but this is what I ended up with - I was having huge difficulty in ...

Hi all, Dreadful weather but they still managed to put on a good show, got a few shots when I wasn't shivering too much Larger versions of the shots can be found by clicking on the image and selecting "original size" at top right. Hope you like them.

Apart from the weather, there was not a lot else going on at Duxford which is strange for a day before an airshow. The 'Black Cats' were already on the ground and the Hawk 75, Pat de France and two Tucanos were the only highlights. Apologies for the 'Arty' type shots Brian

Although hampered by the weather a very decent flying programme was achieved, many thanks to those pilots who took thier aircraft, the conditions were far from easy as well as to the IWM for keeping the show going. Lets hope for better weather in 2009. Thanks for looking.

Recently had the pleasure of visiting the Commemorative Air Force in Midland Texas for their annual airshow. Numbers were down (crowds & aircraft) on previous years due to price of fuel & hurricanes which hit the gulf Coast. Still a great experience and we were made very welcome. Thought you might be interested in a few pictures. A couple of facts. 1. The A26 was based at Great Easton in ...
