I know tht I'm not computer savvy but I didn't know that software would force a drive to spin when it is reluctant to do so. To me, it seems a simple mechanical fault---a new drive will work when connected to the same identical power lead and the same identical daga cable. I'm not insistent upon ANY particular action except one that allows me to extract the stored data from that nonfunctional drive. As I said, nothing has been...

Instead of yanking the Ford engine out and dropping in a Chevy engine to test the carbuerator, wouldn't it make sense to bolt on a free test gauge first? The WIndows Resource kit has plenty of low-level tools. I do not think there's anything you can do in Linux that I can't do in NT, with freely-available tools. I dunno how ease of use gets tallied here, though. You...

delivered properly, rocks can be quite effective as weaponry. You could even get an ominous hum from 'warming up' the coils for the coilgun

One of my external hard drives just died. It has quite a few files that I cannot replace. I've heard that sometimes cooling the drive in a freezer before hooking it up again may enable me to dump a download before the drive compeletly shuts off. Is there truth in this rumor or am I out of luck? Any information concerning this problem would be greatly appreciated!

Schlock's gonna educate some people on several points. It looks like they're used to mostly fighting humans for domination of the local scene.

So, what new concealed weapons will Tagon choose? Will Kevyn convince him to try an antimatter codpiece?

SImple. Stop accelerating. If he drifts off course, fire short bursts until he's on the correct trajectory. Then he needs to aim one Plasgun forward and start firing at maximum on full spread. That not only slows him down, it blinds (or vaporises) attackers and gives him protection from projectiles, as well as making it very hard to target him, as the plasma blast should make any smart targeter ...

Now there's a thought to make you wake up screaming. Since Tagon would only contribute personality information, and Amorphs only have behavioral gender (male, female, androgynous, or neuter) and all are physically capabe of reproducing without a physical partner, it's not what you'd think (if you have a ditry mind). What you'd end up with is an amalgam of what Schlock considered his own best ...

I would be very worried if Lota had not implied that whatever Lota would do would not injure the humans (unlike the boxes). Of course, that is a shaky assumption. Also, Lota is very cool because of Lota's way of talking.

...will Clifford Finney remain at large? Even without his stupidity, who here believes TAG and Ennesby couldn't find out who the sniper was from the network's records? Once he's in " protective custody" (Tagon will promise to protect him from Schlock and Ebbernoth), all kinds of incentives can be offered to make him cooperate. There's no need to threaten him; incentives are much better. ...
