Wow that must have sucked. Here in florida we have love-bug season and those are terrible. I've literally had to pull over and clean my visor more than once before continuing. Glad to hear you didn't get your butt kicked

The important thing to remember is that you can't let off the throttle in the middle of the turn. If you do, the tendency of the bike is to straighten up and go right off the roadway. According to the MSF instructors, you may even have to roll on more throttle in the turn the more you lean. (and never forget to look WHERE you want to go )

morale of the story is always ride with the visor down... it's there for a reason not only will it stop bugs hitting your face, but it'll stop small rocks and road debris too.

I guess that would really be bad :-S. I guess the part that made this one really scary was the 2000 drop off the side of the mountain hehe.

YouTube - Fatal Motorcycle Accident vid is about 6 months old, so maybe you've seen this one. Just a reminder to look where you want the bike to go instead of what you're worried about hitting. This rider was obviously riding beyond his skill level, trying to catch another rider.

OK, I'm driving slowly along this quiet residential street when this woman(because it was a woman), driving a van, coming towards me pulls out to go around a parked car but comes right over to my side of the road completley. Right away I'm sensing an attitude. I slowed down to wait for her to pull back to her side but she doesn't. By this time I am on the edge of my side of the street and there...

So I got an oil light on my bike today so I got it home and I checked the oil level and it looked a little low, so I threw a little bit more oil in, then I hopped on the bike, to start the engine and rev it a little, and see if the oil light went away. I had no intention of going anywhere but I kicked up my kickstand anyway, out of habit I guess. Well, the oil light didn't go off, so I ...

So this might be lengthy but if you must, read on: So about a month and a half ago I bought my first bike an 89 kaw ninja zx600c... I rode it a few times before I got my liscence and I had nothing but problems with it. the first time I rode it I had to jump start it and the idle was finicky. After awhile warming up it seemed to run fine, so I thought nothing of it.The Day I got my ...

Yeah, I figure I could wrap myself in blinking Christmas tree lights and still be invisible. I'm glad you're ok though. The other day, in the cage, an elderly woman coming off a rural road failed to stop at the stop sign and rolled across a major 4 lane highway, not only in front of me, but 3 other vehicles. She stared straight ahead and never noticed any of us! Young drivers are scary too, ...

I had this happen to me about a week ago. My rearend kicked out on a corner filled with tar snakes, it had a high pucker factor for me. Thankfully I stood it back up before we went down for the count.
