I found that putting cheapy blanket then a bike cover over that really helped the cold starts.

I'm running the Shinko 005, which is a sport-tour tire. They make an 003 for sport riding, and also a soft-compound 003 as well. I'm not totally sure what the difference is between them, but they have a pretty good website describing their details. The 005 would certainly make for an interesting track day!

If it's not radiator coolant, it might be brake fluid. These bikes have brake fluid in the brake master cylinders that might need checking too. A loose brake line or a cracked fitting can leak a surprising amount of fluid. Avoid getting brake fluid on paint as it will strip it down to bare metal. I used to live in El Cajon til 6 years ago.

Just be sure that you wait to check the oil until all the oil has drained back down if you just turned the engine off. Also as already mentioned have the bike on level ground and hold it in the upright position just like you were riding it. If you check/add oil while it's on the side stand you will probably over fill it.

Dude that sucks! It's so difficult finding a shop that you can trust; I never take the shop that I go to for granted. At the very least, take your receipt showing the mileage of your bike and the dirty oil filter; tell them to give you a new filter since you paid for one. BrianT : Actually, no 600 mile service includes a valve check. As the shop that I bought/took my Z1000 to for it's 600 mile service said, "...it's a...

^Thanks,
After some more looking, and got a book from the library, I noticed that where the blinker relay should be there are just three cut wires...great. I ordered a new relay (I think) Some of the ordering scymatics had two parts different parts with the same number, some had one. Either way it's going to take a week to get here. I just hope I got the right thing. Part # 27002A or B? or -...

No, pretty sure tire were warm. i'd been riding it the majority of the sessions prior. In that session, we had run 3 or 4 laps, then came in because of a red flag. We waited about 5 minutes on pit lane then they turned us loose again. This was the second lap after that. it was really strange because the tires hadn't given me any indication of a problem prior to the spill.

mmh.. carbs cleaning is ever necessary after many years of unused.
clean carb and try, but if he does only when hot, for me the problem is the pickup coil oxidized, disassemble and clean

Try running seafoam through it and see if that fixes it. It sounds like things are kind of gummy.

I have a nice pair of cortech jeans that are probably better than normal jeans, but I know they are not as good as my tour master caliber pants. The caliber pants however are moderately uncomfortable and look strange. I also bought a Rockgardn air armor jacket and would have felt safer wearing it-but wouldn't want to walk into a restaurant to have a meal wearing it.
What are some good ideas ...

You lower the front by sliding the fork legs down on the triple tree. there are lowering kits for the rear as well. Once lowered, you should be able to enjoy it more.

What ever you do, do not use one of those high pressure hoses. I can't even remember the number of threads that have been started by people who said that they did that and had a bike that didnt run after.
You can run the garden hose on it (don't use a nozzle or your finger to make the spray stronger) but people have suggested that you cover the exhaust, try to not spray water on parts of ...

Hey guys, new to these forums. Thought i'd introduce myself. I'm Jay, 26, took the MSF Motorcycle Safety Course a month ago and got my license. Haven't ridden street bikes before so I'm completely new to this. Owned a few mustangs and always was into cars but sold them all and looking to get into bikes now.
Anyway tomorrow my friend is selling me his 2008 Kawi ZZR600 with 2k miles for $3,800 ...

The most important thing about getting turn signals from the 500R is that you get the adapters for the front signals if you go candescent-type with stems. I would suggest cat eye/candescent with three leads for the front because of cost. You're going to find that most aftermarket signals are two lead; you can use those but you end up losing your riding lights and even though they aren't life ...
