i beileive that you are right on which one goes where. i have heard good things about the other carb that you are talking about but i have also heard alot of bad. it is sort of a multi machine carb and its not exactly right for the kaw but with some modification you can make it work. if you are going to buy another carb, i would look at your local atv junkyard or ebay. i have saw a few of the used oem carbs on ebay for about the same price as...

Battery 610 ?

I modify and swap to the full sized red top Optima batteries. The charging system will handle the Optima just fine. Keep in mind that if you put a maintenance charger on an Optima, it must not exceed 13.8 volts for an extended period or it will ruin the battery. BatteryMinder makes a special charger with limited voltage output for Optima batteries, and it also works great on other batteries.

If the flywheel is properly torqued down, there is NO WAY the key will shear..If the flywheel has been allowed to get loose and wobble around on its taper, then both the flywheel and crank are junk as they will NEVER fit together properly..

Thanks. I think it might be engine oil. Due to the cold, it might be too thick.

09zKrankin...thanks for the help. I believe I have the diaphragm properly seated and I used Kaw rebuild kit. I think I hear a lot of air/ vacuum, so was thinking maybe something was wrong with that thing. Maybe I need to check the rubber manifold a little closer. I have pulled the carb off and apart a couple of times, but cannot see a problem. Maybe I just need to clean it again...already spent about 32 hours soaking in 24 hour and 8 hour...

Sounds like a plan. I know how that ball joint business is. Mine on my Prairie are stuck in, they're not bad, just stuck. If/when they do go bad I may have to go the Ebay route for a replacement.

Yes I did just that and I found that when I unplug the wiring harness that comes off the starter solenoid going to fused link which leads back to ignition. So I think the problem is in the ignition switch cause it happens when I turn the switch on not when I try to start. I think I figured it out any suggestion on where to get one at a fair price or should I take lube and get ready ?

I just purchased a 4010 mule and my old 2510 will walk right by it. It does not seem like the clutch is shifting properly. Is there anyway to adjust the clutch or change weights. Also any reccommendations on performance chips. Thanks

I pulled and cleaned the carb and now whenI start the machine it runs good with full choke but as soon as you unchoke it it dies. It will start by pumping the throttle (after warm up) but will not idle. Any suggestions? Louie IIII

I have owned Rangers, Gators, and Mules. Each has its place and unique abilities, but on a farm I only use Mules and Gators. The Rangers tend to bring out the little boy/girl in their operators and have always ended up getting someone in trouble, something broken, or someone hurt - just not worth the trouble to me. Fuel economy is also a big deal on the farm and ranch properties for me ...

well dirt is the main problem in these carbs it picks it up easy and makes a mess of the works a good cleaning and a new float needle mostly take care of the problem unless the seat it self is pitted but remove that carb and dissasemble the hole thing but you do not have to remove the butterfly just the rubber dioprah on the top of the carb and all the jets and air flow screw just pay close ...

You may need to get a bit creative, but the engine is the same as used in the 450 LTD motorcycle, and is actually based on their 650 twin that was the British bike knockoff. Everything will swap with a bit of common sense. I have rebuilt them with motorcycle parts, and rebuilt them to 650 specs too. Just do a bit of part shopping once you know what you need, generally speaking it is not ...

If it is popping out under load, and you are certain the linkage is fully engaged by checking the throw where it enters the transmission and you absolutely feel the engagement lock snap into place solidly without any slop in the shaft when you have removed the belt and are rocking it by hand, then it can only be popping out of gear due to a slight taper to the dog gears on the engagement. Those ...

There is a universal theme with any engine that sits for more than a couple weeks without a fuel stabilizer. The carburetor jets and passages plug. I would suspect that is the problem in your case. The issue is that fuels now days are oxygenated, that is they contain ethanol alcohol, and that results in fuel going bad in days instead of months. With such low hours on your machine, I would...

I suspect you have a 220 if it is a 2001, the 250 came out in 2003. Really does not make much difference, the front end is designed so it cannot be lifted either way, and the parts are the same. There is absolutely nothing you can do to safely raise the front end of the Bayou. Whatever you do, never install any threaded rod of any type on a critical steering or suspension part. That is ...

I would suggest that you did not fully disassemble the carburetor by removing everything from the body when you cleaned it, and that either the pilot jet or the pilot circuit in the carburetor body is clogged with gunk. If you did fully remove everything, then check to be sure you did not screw the pilot screw in all the way, it should be out around 2 turns, and then adjusted from there for ...

Most often if a plug is soaked it is from fuel. Usually when this happens it is the float valve leaking fuel and allowing it to run into the engine. When you pull the wet plug give it a sniff test. If it smells like gasoline, it is the carburetor. If it does not smell like gasoline, then it is time for valve adjustment and a compression test.
