I am currently using 523 and had used 506 for quite some time prior. 523 works just as well as 506. No noticeable difference. Not sure what was included in the newer version but I would not have any hesitation in upgrading. XP-PRO SP3.

Hi. You could have just emptied the recycle bin. System volume Information I believe would require to scan with system restore turned off then reboot and turned back on afterward but maybe wait for the mods to confirm this.

Hi, I was having the same problem as BM2KTom untill I uninstalled KIS2010. I am running the same OS (Win7 - x64) and I was using the latest version of KIS 2010. I have installed the latest KIS2010 on a friends Win XP machine but I get the database obsolete message. Update takes hours and it has got to a point were I have stopped it. I have reinstalled it to see if that helps but to no joy even after running the kaspersky remover app to make sure everything of kaspersky was removed before installation. try the newer 8.0.0.523. uninstall the existing version (make sure to keep activation data) then reboot. install the new version which you can obtain from http://www.kaspersky.com/productupdates

Try these steps and see if any help: 1. Make sure your system date & time are correct. If not, correct and try updating again. 2. Reboot, try updating again. 3. Right-click the “K” icon and do a manual update.
