Best DAW for live performance?

I haven't used any DAWs for live performance, but having used it for a few years now I think I would be more than happy using Ableton Live for live shows. ---- Three minutes - not nearly enough time for a poop song.

crossgrades = getting a discount when you migrate over from another host (Sonar, etc.). Go to Samplitude.com and find your nearest dealer and see if they can get you a deal. Greg ---- Don't ask me, I just play here.

Hi, How stable / reliable is the latest version of Cubase 5 on PC? I'm thinking of upgrading from SX3.1 but have held off due to hearing some major stability issues. Some of my mates decided to sell Cubase 5 and have moved over to either Logic or PT. There guys were obviously all on MAC. For the PC, Brainspawn's Forte has always been on my short list of live performance hosts because of the sophisticated scene setups it allows. You could use it with Receptor using it's EcHo plugin. It doesn't do MIDI playback, but technically you could play MIDI from any simple sequencer and use MIDI loopback to send it into Forte for output to your modules. Otherwise It does pretty well what ...

Maybe you have them set as "always on top"? Try a right click next to the cubase preset selector and you should see the "always on top" menu. You can check and uncheck it as you wish. ---- music located at http://luridcactus.com/MusicPage.html

That's pretty much the way it works. Only one host can have the ASIO drivers. One exception would be if one of those can operate as a rewire slave. Sonar can act as a rewire host and I think Sibelius can be a rewire slave. You can rewire Sibelius into Sonar and have both going at once that way. If you don't know what the rewire protocol is, you can read up on it in the respective program manuals....

Ableton love to make their customers hate them.. I won't bleat any more about pricing. I got shot of 7LE for the price I paid for it, then reduced the risk of getting stung by buying suite 8 2nd hand. Regardless of the cost of a piece of equipement, ultimately it should be judged on how it performs. And here is where Ableton amazes and frustrates me in equal amounts. Things ...
