Another thing,The ECU might be faulty and not firing the injectors, just a thought. The gregorys manual says that the injectors fire from a signal that it gets from the CAS(crank angle sensor)and they are a very common thing to play up,and cause all sorts of problems,it might be worth checking out.

Will do... Hopefully most of the work that needs done will be done by me mostly... May need a rear main seal replaced too so yea... Loads of work done... When I do the trans service i'll clean up underneath so I can try and find where the leak is... Geh. Leaks but doesnt leak a drip on the ground... Hmm.

Also wobble/push/pull the wires to the speed sensor as the wires can break inside the insulation due to heat or impact with foreign objects.

depends how much money you want to spend... if you don't have much just chuck a 5ltr in and be happy (it'll kick the shit out of a 4.2l stroker). otherwise, buy a 5ltr and stroke that to 355. to get a 5ltr in your car, everything working, $2000 max to get a 355 in your car, everything working, roughly ~$10,000

Hi there,
I'm looking for someone that knows well about ALDL ECU. I have this device that is hooked in between the computer and the O2 sensor.
Dual EFIE Deluxe - $114.95 : FuelSaver-MPG Store
And I'm looking for the best setting, an amount of milivolts that the computer can accept without the engine to fail in order to lean my fuel mixture the most I can.
Anyone knows if I add 200mV...

Sand it all back with wet and dry paper, you dont have to get back to plasic, just smooth. Fill chips with spray putty. Sand back again. Prime and paint.

Fronts probably will, but I doubt your VN springs will be IRS. I don't think any VN had IRS (or if they did, they were rare). If both cars were live axle, then I'd assume so.
Do you know what brand they are?

was there a cap on the bottom hose connector that you may not have removed?
Disconnect the bottom hose amd check for water flowing out the bottom of the radiator.
Was the radiator new or second-hand? Possibly blocked.

I found that my VY was a whole lot less reliable than my VR, but that could just be me. It all depends on how well its been looked after. My dad put 300,000 on his VR, and besides regular servicing every 5000kms all he ever needed to change was rotors, a radiator, 2 radiator caps and 3 crank angle sensors.

Not that Im saying it isnt the inlet manifold gasket, (it could be) but it is possible for a head gasket to be stuffed without obvious signs like water in the motor.
Normally at 5,000kms I just change my oil and oil filter (pedantic? yes.), check the water and brake fluid levels.

Could be either, IRS was optional (Only standard on Calais, and maybe SS)
You should upgrade the brAkes either way. Its not like it would ever be wasted money.

Probably the battery - if it's over 2 years old it may be due for replacement. A good test is to turn the headlights on when you crank - if it cranks really slow you can be sure the battery has lost some of it's capacity.

Gap the plug down to 1.0mm and see if it fires.
