Hiya Caz... I hope you have an appointment to see a gynaecologist soon who can tell you more about the polyp and what treatment you may need. Best wishes.. LW x

hi my wonderful friends, i got letter from my consultant in UK as he wants my GP refers me for a general gynaecology appointment. My consultant wrote: The management of my abnormal smears and CIN 2 are separate to my present problems and unlikely to be related. He knows that my menstrual irregularity preceded my presentation to the colposcopy clinic. I am due for follow up cytology in March of 2010 after the LLETZ procedure performed in August...

I think with work you are with your rights to ask for either time off or to do something where there's access to loos. You have had a surgical procedure. Talk to your GP about it. As for your husband - who does he think he is. Sorry but no one deserves to go through any kind of medical treatment. This is NOT self inflicted. If my husband said that to me he'd be kicked into touch sharpish. Z

But a second cone biopsy often discovers more progessed cancer cells missed by the first, so it's really worth having if the indications are that way. Hi Pandaface, Re the above, can you let me know whether you remember the journal that this was in because I am having my second cone on Monday due to them finding 3 areas of microinvasive cancer (unexpected) without clear margins for CIN3. My gynae onco has told me that although...

Hi Sandy I have to meet the consultant on Tuesday to discuss treatment ( by this I think he means the LA/GA thing) I suppose he'll try to get me to have it under LA, he's wasting his time though ! At least I can ask him some questions, I have a list as long as my arm! Keep after them about results , hopefully you'll have some answers soon Paula xx

Confused... (lletz results)
Published (2009-11-07 21:41:00)
I find that incredible. I've just had a 6 month follow up colposcopy and smear. Colposcopy and biopsies showed VAIN 3 for which I'm having surgery in a couple of weeks. However, the smear was only borderline. Had I only had a smear, they wouldn't have done anything, just monitored it because the result was borderline. They should apply the same standards across the country. Z xx

Hi Rosebud, If you are London based we are having a meet up, so perhaps you could come join us. We all need each other. If not London based perhaps see if there is one in your area. I am a couple of months behind you, just found out I have CIN3 and awaiting gyny appointment. Keep posting and vent your feelings. Big kisses. xxx

Hi there, I'm having a pretty rubbish day waiting to meet with my oncologist this arvo for results, but just wanted to say when I went through the same, I felt exactly the same. The 'alot of people have abnormal smears' didn't help from day 1, and talking to my family about it was very hard. I didn't actually tell my mum it was 'cancer', as it was microinvasive, like yours, and I just felt that ...

Katy, My understanding is that that a smear is carried out when they do the next colposcopy.. a colposcopy gives them a clear view of your cervix but I'm sure they'll carry out a smear at the same time. However, it's always best to check with the clinic if you're worried.. I'd definitely want to make sure I had a smear at the same time. LW x

Hi hun, I too had LLETZ under GA, I went for colposcopy on the friday, they couldn't do the treatment as mine too was too large an area, so he booked me in for the next day he was working which was the monday, went in as a day patient, all done quickly and I was allowed home a couple of hours after waking up, felt fine apart from some stomach ache, hope all goes well tomorrow, if you have any ...

Hi Sarah, I know how you feel because i do that to myself all the time!! Then, i start driving myself crazy about every possible outcome! If you have an anxious night, If i were you i would book an appt to see your GP tmrw and that way, if they haven't dealt with your results beforehand, they can deal with them while you're at the surgery. Now i understand the saying 'patience is a virtue' lol xx

Sandy.. I'm sorry I don't really know the answers to your questions but just wanted to say that you're not a pest and if you have questions, I'm sure no-one minds you asking them on here! I've posted repeatedly over the last few weeks (as I'm sure many people are painfully aware ) as I'm waiting for Lletz results and going slowly (more!) insane as each day passes. Hi Wendy, I've been through exactly the same as you so know how worrying this can be. The colposcopy proceedure is fine - it's just a way of looking more closely at your cervix. OK nobody wants to have a stranger that up close and personal, but I promise you that it sounds far worse than it actually is. If you're that way inclined you can usually even watch the colposcopy on camera so there are ...

Hi Steph, Congratulations, the worrying is horrific isn't it! I am wondering if you can help me. I had a severly abnormal smear test about 6 weeks ago. I then had colposcopy, the dr said small area of abbnormal cells but said they would remove them. They did LLETZ there and then. They did not send biopsy. Pathology report said that it was confirmed CIN3, small area (possibly due to my age 26)...

Hi Sophie, Just thought I'd send a quick reply to your post - I don't often post on here but do try to respond to questions about hg-CGIN. I was found to have high-grade CGIN last December and had a loop biopsy but because of postive margins I had a second cone biopsy where they removed a lot of my cervix. I have since had my first follow-up smear which after a couple of inadequate attempts ...

Oh honey, I am so sorry you are still going through it and still bleeding, you must be so tired of it all now. I would try to push to see someone sooner than March as that seems like such a long way away still and you can't keep bleeding till then. Sending you lots of love and hugs and hope you start to feel better soon. xxxxxxxxx
